All your poems are so pretty! ;v;
This is one of the more recent poems I wrote. I’m kind of proud of it, and I think that the reason it’s so much better than most of my poems is because it’s sincere.
In Which the End of the World is a Metaphor
Well, they say today’s the day the world will end
So I thought that we might spend today as friends
I’ll break out the chips and coke
You can set the TV up
And we’ll make fun of old cartoons againWhen the power goes out as happens in disasters
We’ll lie on the floor in the light of a storm lantern
Fight over Monopoly
Tell tales that aren’t scary
We can stay up late tonight foreverAnd when the final light goes dark at last
The sky begins to fall and Trumpet gives its blast
We will simply sing along
Though Armageddon may rage on
We’ll hold each other through the final crashThey say today’s the day the world will end
And that scares me a lot I won’t pretend
But when the Saints go marching in
If we go marching hand in hand
Perhaps someday my world will finally mend
