Um…so…since late 2017 I’ve been working on a thing.

It’s an experimental first chapter for Mortality called Mr. Mortality & the Heart Collector. The idea was for it to 1) get the ball rolling on the actual writing of this series–help me get a feel for how the characters are on paper rather than just inside my head, give me a sense of the style I’m going for, etc., and 2) act as something of a “series pilot” for any potential followers online, get people invested and such. (I should probably explain that this series is supposed to be an episodic serial that I’ll be posting online with the hopes of eventually starting a Patreon if it grows enough.)

Anyway, the whole point of it is that it’s imperfect, and that I’m going to return to it later and polish it into a proper story, but right now it just has me writing. But I was thinking, since I’m working on Part 3 right now, maybe you guys would be willing to tell me some ways I could improve? It might help Part 3 be better, and I’ll probably take the advice with me into the future re-write.

I hope this isn’t too much of an imposition, since Part 1 is a bit long. I’ll understand if anyone is unwilling to read it. And for those who do, thanks so much!!
