@parker Nice! Sorry if I’ve asked this before, but are you hoping to do traditional or self publishing?
Ooh, I haven’t actually heard of that book. I’ll have to check it out.
@ashira Aw, I’m glad to hear that!
A plot bunny is essentially a cute name for a story idea. It’s when you get a new book/character/concept idea and it just keeps bouncing around desperate for attention. 😛
@jillifish I totally relate! Some days I seriously just wish editing never had to happen. xD
Editing the little details while you go is definitely a valid method. I never used to do that, but I’m doing it a lot more these days. And it DOES save a lot of edits afterward.
I think it can also make you conscious of the flaws more and can even help you weed out some of the bigger problems before they’re actual problems.
Ooh — cool idea! That’s really neat!
I definitely recommend a loose schedule at least. Even just “in January – February I will do a large-scale edit the first half of Book Such-and-Such.” Starting small is okay, and slowly building up to bigger goals and getting rid of distracting temptations and learning to focus better and better all the time; it’s all a journey!
I love those books you listed! Those female characters are true strong female characters, for sure. Writing characters like those is a great goal to have — absolutely. They’re amazing.
Wow, that’s really interesting. I had no idea they’d reissued different versions.
Oh no! I’m praying for you and your mum, Jillian. ❤
