This is going to make it sound so dumb, but I picked families for this story because the characters made it easy. They already had their familial issues, so all I had to do was make them more meaningful. 😛

Personally, I think family starts with your literal family, but can also include the people who support you most and encourage you and uplift you, like the Church (when it’s living up to its definition). People who contribute to your positive growth.
