I’ve never been to a writers conference, only workshops.

The most recent workshop I was at I didn’t really enjoy it, the author just wanted to talk about his books, and his own personal stories, rather than showing us some ways to write. I even tried asking him about his writing techniques, plotting, etc. but he brushed off that question and just started talking about the story of one of his books. That frustrated me, especially since I had to pay to listen to him talk, while I could have just rented his books from the library and gotten the same thing.

I need to find a good writing conference near where I live.
