I felt rather flattered. The story was difficult for me, especially since I had read very little steampunk myself. To hear that someone found it interesting was gratifying.

“Thank you Bama. I’ve been working very hard on that Series. I hadn’t found that many good steampunk books to study, so it’s been a difficult process. Sometimes I think I should have just settled for historical fiction instead, but I don’t think I could have done that very well. I’ve never done it before and I’m not sure I have the patience.

Self experience is one of the best teachers when it comes to writing. It’s hard to beat a real life story. I would be very interested in hearing more about your story. Stories about families draw me in. Families are always so full of complicated relationships.

I understand dabbling. About a year ago, dabbling in writing was pretty much all I did to. I had millions of story ideas, and would jump from one to the next, but couldn’t seem to push myself to finish any of them.
But then I decided I wanted to take my writing seriously, so I started writing for an audience. I picked out a goal for myself and took steps to meet it. That pushed me to actually complete a story, and then to keep editing it until it was ready for a audience. I finally managed to self publish the first story on Amazon and now I’m working on the second one.”

It sounded like a small victory, but to me it had been years in the making.
And it was a reminder though it was difficult, actually finishing stories was possible.

Glancing after the others on thier way to the library, I said: “I don’t know everyone as well as I’d like to, since I’ve only been on here for around a month. But they all seem like people I’d be ecstatic to know in person. Do you want to hunt for the library to Bama? I could go either way. I love books, but I don’t have as much time as I want to actually commit to a library of them.”
