Amelie was shocked by the touch (from Evangeline) but didn’t find herself pulling away as she had before. Not saying anything was Amelie’s way of saying thanks and its okay all in one fell swoop. After a moment she looked the girl (Evangeline) in the face. While her expression hadn’t changed, her eyes had. Somehow she didn’t feel so repulsed anymore. Somehow, some way, something had changed. She just didn’t know what or why.

With the girl gone and the man following her, Amelie found herself alone again. But this time, she wasn’t relieved. She found herself looking around at people in a slightly new light. Maybe she should give them a chance one day. Maybe, just maybe.
