After thinking about it I thought of four things we could think about. (Just remember you only really need the important things to be listed)

-What traits did s/he inherit from his/her parents and/or other ancestors? (this maybe hard if your character is orphan and you have no plans to reveal the birth family)

-What kind of state was his/her living arrangement? (This is up to the whole of pregnancy up to the end of toddler years)

-What’s his/her backstory? (What I mean by this is what has the character done him/herself after being able to finally understand the world by him/herself even if it’s an naive worldview) (This is the years after toddlers up to the age your character is)

-What do you want your character to be at the end? (This is the lesson s/he learn and if the future is bright or dark)

Now, as for character paradox I’ve got an example

Let’s say that we have a character, that really values responsibility, to the point it’s a big part of his life.

Then with this character, who feels he must do his duty at all costs, we add to his character either the inability to say no or being so stubborn that he burns himself out or being able to easily lose track of time.

It may not seem much at first, but with these traits we either have a character that has so much on his plate or the appearance of a lazy man or someone who’s always late because subconsciously doesn’t believe in clocks, making it hard for the character to fulfill his responsibilities.
