Oooo!  Love this.  Any chance to talk about my people.

I have two almost equal main characters in my current story.  It’s futuristic sci-fi, and it’s about a government emergency/security organization called EAGLE.  Extra-Atmospheric Garrison for Law Enforcement.  It’s made of two tiers.  Alpha, a team of 10 elite officers who handle the worst situations, and organize and lead the others, and Beta, a larger but less effective force spread out over several bases.

My male lead, Preston Colemin, is the Chief of the organization.  The leader of the Alpha team, ultimately in charge of organizing and directing the whole thing.  He’s still under 40, and his personality could be described as cold, aloof, sarcastic, but intensely genuine.  His wife died young and he gave his daughter up for adoption, so he has his demons but he believes he did the right thing, and he cares deeply about the few people he’s close to.  It’s just hard to stay soft in his line of work.

Dawn Gallo, my other protagonist, is your average 20 year old girl, behind in school, but with plenty of plans.  Her dad is a busy man who she only sees a few times a year.  She doesn’t have a mom.  But that’s okay.  She thinks she can do fine without either.  She’s tough and can take care of herself, but she gets attached to people easy and is a lot more breakable than she’d care to admit.
