@Ashlyvye, there are less cool things to be than aliens.

Basically, setting has two aspects:

1. The literal space your character exists in.  As writers, we have to create and describe interesting and concrete rooms, offices, houses, and battlefields to act as stages for our characters.

2. The other aspect of setting is a broader sense of the world you characters exist in.  What is the government like?  What do they eat?  Does the sun rise and set like it does on earth?  What is the culture?  Are there multiple cultures?
