I gather the courage to speak up. “I agree–Melkor’s days are indeed numbered. But still, it is urgent that we consult the Book for wisdom and devise a plan of action against him.” I glance around, watching the firelight dance on the faces of new my companions.

“I was just summoned here from Deldore, where the king has succumbed entirely to Melkor’s control. Work on the new university has been completed, and the mentors there are adamant in their attacks against Christian literature. The people are agreeing, and who can blame them?” I throw up my hands in frustration. “With so much terrible Christian literature, how are we to draw them to our messages?”

I see the looks of surprise and I lower my eyes, regretting my impatient outburst, yet at the same time yearning for an encouraging answer. Perhaps there is still hope.
