Hi! I have a question. It might be a silly question, but I am planning a trilogy and I’m wondering if the POV and tense of the narrative have to be the same for each book in a series?? I know that consistency is really important in a series. My second book in the trilogy I’m thinking I want to be in first person, past tense, because the protagonist is a queen who, after reading the official historical record of some major events she lived through, isn’t satisfied, and wants to write down the story as she experienced it. In my first draft of the first book, the protagonist journals, but I wrote it in third person limited and I really like it that way. Does the fact that my readers would hear some first person perspective from my book #1 protagonist through her journal entries unify the two books enough? Should I write them both (and the third one) in either first person or third person for the consistency? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice!!!
