    @e-n-leonard

    thank you so much!!!!

    Okay…. so, to answer the question about The Last Aygiff, there is huge spoiler…. it won’t ruin reading the book, but you should be warned. =) Most of this is backstory that isn’t directly included in the book anyway….

    The Last Aygiff…. yes. Abirami’s book series picks up with Abirami being an 18 year old orphan. =(.     So, you know in Aefflaed’s Weakness, when Cairbre talks with Galchobhar before the final battle? He tells Galchobhar what happened to his people, the Vaelintriens. Cairbre claims to be the last vaelintrien, but that’s not true. It’s not revealed in Aefflaed’s Weakness, but the secret Cairbre entrusted to Galchobhar was that Cairbre’s son is still alive (Caibre’s son is named Dubshlaine), although at the time of Aefflaed’s Weakness, Cairbre’s son is but a young child.

    So… when Abirami grows up, at around the age of 12, Dubshlaine invades the Burku kingdom (where they live) backed by two brutal races – the Ceratecians (a race loosely based upon humanoid orcas) and the Naksians (a race loosely based off a combination of boars and snakes). With those two races backing him, he hits the capital in a surprise attack, kills Hanniumm =(   and takes over the capital, and then proceeded to build an empire while naming himself the great Dhiaga. Being under the curse, that was placed upon his race, he orders the death of every living aygiff (because the curse didn’t end with Hanniumm’s death, because Abirami has Hanniumm’s blood running through him, so the target of the curse passed to him.)

    Thus, Abirami is the ‘Last Aygiff’. Oh, and if you wonder what happened to Aefflaed, seeing as Abirami is an orphan…. Well, the backstory to that, which isn’t revealed in the books so far, at least… is Aefflaed was both cursed and blessed. The blessing covered over the curse, saving Aefflaed’s life. When Aefflaed becomes pregnant, There is that curse and blessing inside her, running through her veins. For mysterious reasons, (ie. haven’t thought it out that far…) The blessing is passed on to Abirami (which is why he has the ability of a full blooded Aygiff, even though he is of mixed blood), which leaves only the curse in Aeflaed’s body. Without the blessing’s strength inside her any more, Aefflaed slowly becomes ill and dies when Abirami is about 4-5 years old.  (I know, it’s sad… but Abirami takes after both his father and his mother… and his epic story is going to eclipse even his father’s renown….)
