Man is his father, who was killed five years ago by the emperor, who is also after Abirami. In the picture, father is wearing traditional aygiff garb. Abirami, age 18, is wearing what is called a gaaban, a magically-imbued leathery boxers that stretch and shrink with his transformations (well, all except really large transformations – like the elephant, or really small ones – like the mouse.)
