First character is an Aelacrin – named  Ku’Aya (Coo – eye – ah) who prefers the nickname Ku. (link to picture of her)

She is a feisty 12 year old who was orphaned as a baby and grew up on the streets, so she has a feral survival instinct, but she adores Abirami, the one who saved her and invited her into his family of orphans. (Though an adult,Semiramis, is their caretaker, so to speak).

Her views of Abirami are mixed, for she sees him like a brother, but also as a father figure. She hates emotions, and she teases and steals from those she likes, so she is a bit complicated in her interactions. Growing up being hated by everyone has left her not just jaded, but also with low self-esteem, as she believes she really is ugly.
