@eitan 😛 Well, my family celebrates Passover, too, to an extent. Not like a full-on traditional Passover, but we do go through it. It’s very interesting. I love seeing the ties between the Passover and Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

Anyways, that’s really cool! Do you happen to know any languages besides Hebrew and English? I’m…[Read more]

@deeprun Well, the quadratic equation was originally “derived” in it’s basic form by Euclid, who lived at around 300 B.C.. Meanwhile, I can’t even begin to wrap my head around derivatives even with the wonderful tools we have(calculators, absolutely the best invention ever), in the 21st century. XD In the late 1700’s to early 1800’s, Thomas Young…[Read more]

Before I say anything i just want to say that I totally agree with @r-m-archer ‘s response.

I actually struggled with this for a while because I was afraid any magic would feel supernatural. Especially since my Wip’s genre is Historical Urban Fantasy; at least I think it would be, it’s complicated.

Like @sarah-inkdragon mentioned I have…[Read more]

@sarah-inkdragon That’s some really interesting terminology.

@noodle-mum Like Daeus said, Sanderson’s Three Laws are an essential resource, if only because everyone else will have them in mind when discussing magic.

Hardness

We describe magic in a given system as being on a scale from “soft” to “hard.” Generally, the harder the magic,…[Read more]

Classified into? Not sure. I believe it might be speculative fiction, as that covers fantasy, a lot of sci-fi, some historical fiction, and a decent amount of horror. Here’s a really good Venn diagram I found from Annie Neugebauer (saying that so the Copyright Monster doesn’t chase after me! 😁).

Ooh, and I especially love that she likes dancing. A lot of female ‘soldier/assassin types’ don’t seem to have any room for femininity. @r-m-archer

Though I suppose dancing isn’t entirely a feminine occupation… 😉
