I started my book with my main character. One day I said ‘Oh I should write a book!’ then I thought up my main character (Jered Martin) and just started with that. No plot or anything lol! A lot of times I’ll start my short stories with my characters also. Sometimes I’ll think of a feeling and go from there. 🙂

I love it here! We were in a much more difficult third-world country before SA, so I think it’s great, even though there’s a lot of crime and corruption. South Africa is a beautiful country with such so many diverse cultures!

Lol, I’m glad I’m not the only one! 😉

@michael-erasmus I almost always start with the premise, but not plot. The premise is normally something like “What if Beauty and the Beast was told from the POV of the enchantress?” Or a line of prose or dialogue comes to me and I think, “Whoa. What’s the story where this line happens?” Recently it was, “Does that make her the Beauty or the…[Read more]

@michael-erasmus I’m not comfortable with the idea that David, Solomon, and the prophets had no communion with the Holy Spirit. I guess that’s just a fundamental philosophical difference that will shape how we look at the role of religion and spirituality in fantasy.

Programming sounds difficult, but cool 🙂 What languages do you work in primarily?

I love trying different cultures’ food. What’s your favorite South African dish?

Do you have a story you’re working on now? I don’t write much fantasy or sci-fi, mostly historical or contemporary fiction, but I’m trying to read a little…[Read more]

Hey!

South Africa? That’s awesome!!

Story Embers is an awesome place!

What kind of stories do you write?

I’m from Kentucky. I love the outdoors. My outdoor activities: I make walking sticks, hunt, trap, fish, blacksmith, do photography, garden, and make maple syrup. My indoor activities: Crocheting, knitting, painting,…[Read more]

Yep. It did hurt. Alot. Falling 6ft really hard really messes with your head. Like seeing extra colors for like 10 minutes. Extra greens and reds, like wearing 3D glasses when its not 3D. I somehow did not break or sprain anything. Just got a rant bad bruise on my hip, so i limped around for a week. Then i was fine and got back…[Read more]

@michael-erasmus Yeah, when you post, you have a very short time in which you can edit it, and I don’t believe you can delete your own post at all. Also, editing (or sometimes even posting) a very long post, especially one with external links in it, will probably get your post sent into the spam filter and you’ll need to reach out to @ Josiah to…[Read more]
