One school of thought says “said is dead”. People on this side tend to be against the use of the word ‘said’, preferring to use descriptive dialogue tags such as ‘explained’, ‘shouted’, ‘pouted’, ‘whispered’, ‘fretted’, and so on.

@ads_forest You’re welcome! I agree. Excellent! Have you decided on where you will attend college?
My availability to write depends on the quarter. I also think it would depend on the person taking the classes. Personally, I have found three classes to be excruciating, and my writing was limited to jotting down every inspirational or poetic thing…[Read more]

Nice! I hope you can join the Stoa club next semester or next year.

I have not been one to make New Year’s resolutions, and I still struggle to understand why that is the case. However, I tend to sit down before each college quarter and make some bullet journal pages about health, homework, writing, and such. This time (school starts tomorrow), I took things a little further and made several pages of focus points…[Read more]

My lovely friend pointed me to the introductory post in the series about writing tricky topics, and it was exactly what I needed to read. I am hoping to join a guild in the next acceptance cycle.
