What are some prominent characteristics of your writing style? Do you struggle to be consistent to your style when reading other writers’ work? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Emma Huckabee (Emma Starr)

This is so helpful!! *picks up pencil and writes bunches of pages* *squints at words through magnifying glass*

I have four different and distinct voices that I’ve detected in my writing, and I’m trying to figure out which one is me. XD (I’ve noticed that they come up when I’m in different moods, respectively)

One is serious and blunt, the second is boring and unoriginal, the third is perceiving and witty and full of understatements, and the fourth is humorous and obviously not too serious. It’s like I have multiple alter-egos. *looks around nervously*

I’ll try to focus on the layers of my writing to figure out if they vary depending on whether I’m writing narrative, characters, etc.

  2. Grace Livingston

I’m glad you found it helpful, Emma! Thanks for listening. 🙂 And good luck with exploring those different voices!
