Yes! I know what you mean! That always happens to me… it’s like “wait, you weren’t supposed to be that important!” XD
For me, I just kinda roll with it, because hero characters are fun and they just deserve the spotlight, right?
Exactly! Weird how that always happens! XD Totally, hero characters are actually way more fun than th…[Read more]

Totally! Holly sounds cool! Courageous characters are fun to read about!
My hero character, Gavril, is also a side character. He’s the main character’s older brother, and it’s fun to use them as foils for each other, especially since my MC is basically Family Disappointment no. 1. (At least, she sees it that way XD)
Another odd…[Read more]

K.M. Small started the topic Strategies Outlining Epic Fantasies/Giant Novels? in the forum Fantasy Writers 3 years, 4 months ago
So, I have a dilemma regarding my 200k epic fantasy novel that I’m hoping to get some thoughts on. But first, a little background:
I wrote the second draft of my epic fantasy last year. Rewrite might be a better word, since it was radically different from the first draft. I outlined most of it, though the plan for the second half of the book was…[Read more]

Brian Stansell started the topic Intriguing Opening Lines (Mystery/Thriller/Suspense) in the forum Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Writers 3 years, 4 months ago
I am curious, for all my fellow Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Writers out there, how do you begin your stories of this type? Are you willing to share some of your personal examples of your opening lines from a WIP that you use to grab a reader’s attention?
Here are a few that I have used in some stories:
1. Lost, alone, cold, wet, tired and no one…[Read more]

Thanks, Ella!!

@imwritehere1920 Ey, thanks so much for helping me tag some people! I usually don’t interact much here anymore, so I’m a bit out of touch with the community, haha…
Dystopian/fantasy is something that I’ve been thinking about lately, yeah! You mention wagons and trains; would this be more of a 19th century type of time period?

imwritehere1920 replied to the topic Your Type of Fantasy in the forum Fantasy Writers 3 years, 4 months ago
So, usually I do medieval Fantasy (i.e Ranger’s Apprentice style) with maybe a very light touch of magic (I have a phoenix in my current WIP novel). But I’ve also tried a dystopian/fantasy style for a MG short story I just finished. It’s kinda like alt. history, in the sense that there’s wagons, trains, towns and cities, b…[Read more]

Here’s my guesses. This girl is stunning, by the way.
1) Name: Tara, Kristin, Sierra
2) Age: 17-21
3) Career/Role in Story: MC or MC’s older sister
4): Personality: A thinker. Pensive and perhaps a little distrusting. She knows more than she is saying. I see her as strong-willed and determined. A natura…[Read more]

I just put in the following search string in YTube “Best Voice Recorder Apps For Android That Are Simple to Use”. The video has several options offer, but I would check to make sure the Apps listed are free to use.
