Oki dokes, at least one of you asked for my version of Myrrha, and after going through all of my older drawings of her and being either gravely disappointed or else wisely deciding not to share that particular version of her, I have a draft that sorta satisfies me.
@deeprun, you might recognize some details of this from her…[Read more]

Generally?
Well, for my little group, we do it in 2-3 hours. Basically the same amount of time we’d be otherwise playing games together.Do you have an email I can send stuff to? I can send you info on the setting and we can talk about making your character and introducing her/him into the story.

@anne_the_noob14
Right now, it’s me and 3 guys, all brothers / brother-in-law of the two brothers, and our language is clean – we’re all Christian dudes. THAT SAID, one of them’s a bit of a dingdong when it comes to socially acceptable violence (in games) and so the setting / morality is more on the gray-and-gray rather than eminently heroic.…[Read more]-

*nods* Gotcha. I don’t generally mind some violence. Oh, I messaged my friend and she said she hasn’t asked her group yet, but she advised me to join y’all if possible cause some of her people have some foul language/behavior, SO… I would love to join you guys if that’s cool.Those are some interesting-sounding characters XD I…[Read more]

Hm… Alrighty. I’ll talk to my mom and dad and make sure I can have that kind of time free. -

I meant to reply this morning, and per usual – forgot.
But absolutely bleeding fantastic work! Erhard looks more heroic, frontman-esque than before, and as the others have said, the shading on their armor is positively stunning. I cannot complain in the slightest. 🙂
Thank you! I’m glad that my descriptions are su…[Read more]

I’ve seen your results and I’m impressed! I never knew the Lee Van Cleef look would be so good for Fritz!
And I’ve been doing my best to keep apace of your updates / comments on Hearts and Minds – it’s really, really, super duper encouraging to see you engage so deeply with it. You and Eowyn have been super inspiring there, just in the…[Read more] -

They’re amazing! I might have pictured Erhard a little younger and maybe a little leaner, but it definitely looks representative of him as an adult, at least more towards a grown man, and I love the detail on his armor!
Also I’m super jealous of how well you managed lining up Fritz’s eyes – the sidelong gaze has always been the hardest…[Read more]

@claire-h No worries! I’ll have to dig around for good Myrrha sketches – A lot of them have depicted her at darker points in her story and I’m a little uneasy about the content policy (my fault for having a monstrous protagonist!). So I’m looking for / working on lighter-hearted sketches, which is a problem as my brain just recently decided to…[Read more]

My general critique to your story, as it would have been far too difficult to read were it compressed into a comment box. We can get more specific if you like, but I thought you might be most efficiently served by a general initial overview.
Hope to…[Read more] -

No worries about typos! Who knows how many litter my works and posts.
At least you have some caffeine that works. Oddly enough, coffee just puts me to sleep – the only caffeine that does anything from me comes from those energy drinks, and, well, there’s certain downsides… I’d send you a shipment of joe if I could.I’ll get on the doc this…[Read more]

Would your character rather, go into the past and meet his/her ancestors or go into the future and meet his/her great-great-grandchildren?
Countess Kyreleis: I have grandchildren???
Erhard: Future – I’d like to hear the songs they’ll be singing of my deeds!
Fritz: What, like the time you fell off your horse, off a bridge, into the Vltava, and…

Everyone else has said their piece and they’re really good, with excellent, solid, detailed advice – I’m not sure how much I can add, but after reading your question I felt compelled to draw up an answer, as I have an MC who is pretty much in the same position. Since everyone else has already supplied high quality general advice, mayhap…[Read more]

@claire-h I like it! The clothing style and the green with the curly red hair gives her an interesting Irish flair (her original character concept from years and years and years ago did have her as originating from an Irish-inspired culture).
Also, I’m glad that you were able to identify Nan and Jean! I’d meant to attach little dialogue bubbles,…[Read more]

Alright, Story Embers is refusing to let me post in the Art Exchange, here we go
@deeprun 😀She’s so…. imperious. I love it! Even though it’s, well, less picturesque, I love the aquiline nose (and the coin-like side profile you did). I CAN’T OVERSTATE HOW COOL IT IS TO SEE MY CHARACTERS IN SHADOW AND COLOR. And if there was just one character…[Read more]

I understand – honestly I think I myself am stuck in a similar track. For the last two week I’ve found myself doing almost nothing but drawing, despite having plenty of stuff to work on – a stout outline to extend and a story begging to have its beginning written (and also that contest thing…. :{ ), but whenever I’ve tried to draw my own stuff…[Read more]

Okay, so I might have gone a little wobbly in my brain jelly in setting the scene (listening to Nox Arcana for lack of more ‘sedate’ mystery music), but here’s Nan and Jean. I’ll let you figure out which is which (or else I’ll find out that I’m not very good at interpreting descriptions! lol)

@claire-h no problem! As far as I know there is no meaningful symbolism to be found in the curvature of Myrrha’s horns.
@purpleturtle Thanks! That is a heck of a plot you’ve got there – I think I have some ideas for Cyril’s appearance and props. He sounds like a man of adventure, like Alan Turner from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (except…[Read more]

@claire-h i can’t remember exactly what I said. Uhh… curcing out and forward? 😛
Also, @purpleturtle, I’ll take Cyril Drake! I’ve not had the best luck with drawing young men lately, but I seem to be a dab hand at old ones. Do you have a full description for him? What’s his role in the story?
