This is a pretty good short tutorial on the very basics of blending with block watercolors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kznN5UZmlng
I prefer the tubes to be honest and I usually use them, but I do have a nice block travel set I use for when I’m out and about. What really matters when blending watercolours is the pigement-to-water…[Read more]

So, first question – do you use the watercolor blocks or liquid? Liquid watercolor can often be easily blended in that manner, while the blocks are a little harder.

Yes, sadly life has taken it’s toll again and our guildmasters are all busy people. Erekdale has a discord chat, but it isn’t very active either. I hope we get back in the flow of things eventually… it was nice to have weekly discussions and challenges.

I’m working on a mixture of projects. Currently, my big fantasy project that I recently changed the title to Aeonian, and a Hi-Fi novel set either in Vietnam or Korea(not sure which yet, but probably Vietnam.). The Hi-Fi is still in plotting stages but it’s one of the few projects I’ve ever had that I have a firm idea on what I want out…[Read more]

I’m 17 currently, if we’re counting my age in the standard Roman calendar. In cat years, I’m about 85 years old. 😉

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic YA vs Adult fiction? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 9 months ago
Thanks! It’s just what I’ve noticed as a sort of trend in YA v. Adult, especially in fantasy.
Yep. It’s just my opinion based off what I’ve read and seen in fiction. 😉

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic Favorite Fantasy Christian book? in the forum Fantasy Writers 4 years, 9 months ago
Hmm, I’m really not sure. One of my all-time favorite fantasy novels is A Wrinkle In Time, which has sort of Christian elements, but not is explicitly Christian. (I’m not even sure of the author meant for them to be Christian elements, to be honest. XD)
I also really enjoy The Hobbit, mostly for the humor and the grans sense of adventure all…[Read more]

Just popped in to say, I really love how this is progressing, even though I can’t contribute a great deal. It’s so interesting to observe a blurb take shape…

I would say, the main difference would be content and severity of themes. For example, Peretti wrote a YA Fiction series about a Christian archaeological family and their adventures that deals with heavy themes and is a really great series in my opinion. He also wrote more Adult Fiction like The Oath, This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness,…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic If parents hinder writing…? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 9 months ago
I think it probably should matter, but most importantly as to whether the hindrance is logical and godly or some ‘other’ reason. If your parents have a problem with you writing, for whatever reason, I think you ought to respect that. They are your parents and if it’s a sound reason, then at least hear it out and think about it before dismissing…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon commented on the post, Why Villains Need Character Arcs Too (and How to Pull Them Off) 4 years, 9 months ago
Oh, I suppose he’s not a terrible villain. I’ve just never found him to be particularly relatable, and to me the best villain is the one that has a little piece of him that is so terribly relatable it makes sense as to why they are the way they are. Thanos never had that for me, so I never really was able to connect on the emotional level with…[Read more]

Niche is my thing. Pop is typically bland and meaningless, and it annoys me so I stick to lesser-known bands or more Alternative music.
And yes, kicking myself in the face would be quite the feat and very amusing to the rest of the population, I’d assume. But I typically attempt to avoid such things.

A good mystery is a good mystery, so where there’s one to be found I’m always there. 😉
I’ll admit, I haven’t read many of the books… I got sort of sidetracked with Sanderson. I like all the the Robert Downey Jr. movies however(though, slight content warning on those – nothing too crude if I remember correctly but some language), and I love the…[Read more]

I don’t know you, but it seems we’ll get along.
I’m Sarah–Inkdragon, that is. Or you can call me Sink. (Long story.) Whichever is more useful when in the middle of writing a long and arduous paragraph. I tend to hold the deep sense of sarcasm, general laziness(Well, not laziness, per se, but rather a like for doing nothing physically…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic How do YOU begin a fantasy story? in the forum Fantasy Writers 4 years, 9 months ago
I kind of tend to just get a “feel” for a story, I guess. I might have some concept that’s been really on my mind and all of a sudden it blooms into a story(Sort of like my Hi-Fi WIP, which just began with the idea of war-time pen pals and the concept of accountability and loyalty.), or I get an image of a story I want to write.…[Read more]
