if you scroll the post from tonight you will see we have expanded a little bit more but hopefully that’s enough for you to start writing. Is there anything we can do to help you out??? or tell you more about the story in some way. We kinda decided on a draft deadline two days before the contest if that works for you.

@jennythefaunI love the villains birthday being on the town festival idea!!! what a way to add depth and meaning to it!!!! What if they had some sort of dangerous tradition that some of the townspeople had to do every year and then his parents got killed when they were chosen to do it. what did you think about the suggestion I put out?? Where the protagonist reaches out the villain at school after his parents die and he is beginning to grow resentment towards the whole town. He sees the young innocent boy reaching out to him and takes him under his wing to protect him from the town.

yah especially for boys in the era I’m thinking it definitely would have been a small town school. So what if the protag was younger but reached out to him and the villain would decide to reach and protect him from the city’s evils?? Their relationship grows over the years and they are both young men when the story takes place.

Did say protagonist reach out to him at school, does he have a similar backstory or is just a few years younger and the villain took him under his wing to protect him from town.
