@samantha-pen I finally got a chance to read your story and I really liked it! 😀
I have three technical/grammatical comments, if you’d like to hear them, but as for the story in general I can’t think of anything to add. It’s great.

@ashira It’s DoJ. You’ve read the first chapter, I think. It was a while ago though, do you remember?

@ashira That’s what I’m trying to figure out.
His personality is actually very nice generally. He’s loved by all his friends. He’s normally kind, helpful, and generous. That’s supposed to be in contrast to his reaction to the MC.
The betrayal didn’t effect Kashti more than anyone else, no. Not in an outward way, at least. The betrayer was…[Read more]

@valtmy Sorry for the lack of context. 🙂 You actually have heard the premise of this story before – it’s DoJ.
So in answer to the questions on context, the betrayal happened before the book even starts. The whole plot is based on reactions to the unseen betrayal and how it affects the lives of the MC, who is related to the betrayer, and her f…[Read more]

Hi everyone, I’d like some suggestions regarding one of my characters.
This particular character is reacting much more negatively with respect to a betrayal than the other characters are, and I can’t figure out why. 🙂
Basically, the other characters are upset and angry at the betrayal, but they move on to focus on other things (the betrayer is…[Read more]

That’s a great question, and one I’m working out myself right now, as my current WIP is set in the middle of Acts. 🙂
The most important things I can think of are that yes, more than WWII characters, if you’re using real Biblical characters probably try to keep them as exactly in line with scripture as you can. For this reason, I haven’t…[Read more]

@myclipboardismyviolin @selah-chelyah The time zone on this site is set to East Coast (New York) time. I think it’s because a lot of the administrators live in that time zone. So your post will show up as whatever time it was on the East Coast when you posted.
It’s cooler to think you can send messages to the future, though, isn’t it? 😛

@seekjustice @valtmy Speaking of strange cosmetic ingredients I got halfway through a book about the Radium Girls before I had to put it down, being sick to my stomach. 🙂 The Radium Girls were girls hired to work in factories with radium before they learned how dangerous it was. They would paint it on watches to make them more shiny. But the…[Read more]

@samantha-pen I haven’t gone to a historical reenactment exactly, but I went to a 1940s dance (they called it a ball, but it wasn’t a ball… 😉 ) in Colorado once. I wore authentic vintage clothes and there were actors playing Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and a few other historical figures. It was really fun! I looked up the River Through Time re…[Read more]

@theresa-play So, did you get a chance to listen to/watch Barnum?

@jenwriter17 Good, because I’m still waiting to read it. 😉
Our horses are doing pretty well. We haven’t been able to ride them yet, but we can get the saddle on the paint easily now.
I’ve got to go. Hope to talk to you again soon! Happy writing.

@jenwriter17 Ah, I see. You are still planning on completing the sci-fi one, though, aren’t you?
Yes, that’s the title. I’m still in love with the story, so at least there’s that. 😉 I have it all swirling around in my head pretty constantly. But the writing part is going very slow. It’s annoying that it’s going so slowly, since there are…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Yeah, we haven’t talked as much since KP shut down. 🙁 (though it’s back up again now, so, hooray! 😛 )
Same here.
I’m doing some misc. writing things like going through my old story ideas to see if any pop out at me, and planning for my novel(s) that are going everlastingly slow.
What point are you at in your superhero book? I…[Read more]

@lin I just turned 20 at the end of March. Yes, you’re on the upper side of the age range, but there are actually quite a few non-teenagers here. 😉
I like his-fic most of all. I enjoy a well-written sci-fi book if I can find one. I especially love to read “contemporary fiction” books written in the 1900s-1950s, since they’d be classed as hi…[Read more]

@catwing So is your first draft finished already? Or are you changing things before you finish?

@catwing Ah, Alex and Justice. Haha, I remember it now. Well, I never intended to write it in the first place, since I mentioned the idea of the plot as a joke, but I did consider writing it since you and SeekJustice seemed to like it so much.
Thanks for reminding me of it. If I get a chance I’ll try it out and see how it goes. 😀
