Yes! Especially the part about “As a writer, it mainly taught me not to glorify war.” I haven’t read anything by Brandon Sanderson, but those are some amazing things to learn from a book. 😊

@claire-h Fawkes was the first book I’ve read of hers too! I’ve been wanting to read her Out of Time trilogy books for a while though. 😊

@claire-h Yay! Fawkes was AMAZING (I especially loved the ending even though it was sad 😭). 😍 Have you read any other books by Nadine Brandes?

@melodyjoy What genre do you like to write in? 🙂
Yep! I’m definitely going be reading all of them. I’m only a couple chapters in the first book and I’m already hooked. 😂

@eden-anderson Awwwwww! Your story is touching. ❤️☺️
I love what you said here: “the writing community is very important for so many different reasons, but especially because we humans can tend to get so stuck inside our own heads, seeing only one perspective on an issue and we need others to remind us of the truth and to help shift p…[Read more]

@eden-anderson Is Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes middle-grade? The name seems familiar (probably saw it on bookstagram somewhere).

@kimlikesart One of my family members adores Chuck Black‘s books! I haven’t read any myself, but he recently released a sci-fi series (my fave genre) and I can’t wait to read it! 😀

@candide Aw! I love The Chronicles of Narnia! 😍 What’s your favorite book in the series?
That book by Adélia Prado sounds beautiful! I’ll have to look into it. 😀

It’s The Horse and his boy. I’ve read it four times.

@taylorclogston I’ve heard so much good about Redwall! 😃 As a write of middle-grade fiction and lover of children’s books, I’ve been wanting to read them for some time.

@r-m-archer I hear ya. Some of the first stories I wrote when I was between 10-13 were practically doppelgängers to my favorite books. 😂
I’ve never heard of Women of Kern. What is it about? 😃
Also, I desperately need to read LOTR now. 😂

@kimlikesart For nonfiction, definitely Creating Character Arcs by K. M. Weiland. I’m a pantser by nature and for years character arcs and plot structure were foreign to me, but her book helped me to understand those aspects of plotting.
For fiction, Robot Wars by Sigmund Brouwer ignited my love for sci-fi and middle-grade fiction (which is w…[Read more]

Until a few days ago I thought a pantser was a tank used in WWII by the Germans. Then I looked it up. (: (Panzer is the tank. Pantser is someone who writes without a plan.) XD
Thank you for answering! I will look into these books!

It’s day 10 of the Support the Writing Community Challenge! 😀 And today’s prompt is about books that have impacted/inspired you.
And I was wondering: What have been the most impactful books you’ve read and why? How have they affected your writing? ❤️
