@legomaiego I wasn’t really trying to redefine “clean romance”. I was just looking for a romance that wasn’t too romantic, if that makes any sense. I’m a newcomer to the romance genre—and at least at the time of writing the initial post in this thread—I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I wanted “romance lite” (shall we say) without excessive mushiness, extreme sentimentalism, and vividly-described physical acts of affection. I hope that answers your question. 🙂

Ugh, this is so late—I’m so sorry! I have a bad habit of procrastinating when I have emails, chat messages, and forum posts to respond to. @emma-walker can testify to this. XD
That’s cool that you consider yourself a hybrid as well! I think INFJs are cool, btw. They seem to get a lot done in comparison to people like me. XD
Ooh, the Peacemaker! I personally exhibit qualities of 4’s (Individualist Romantics), 5’s (Investigators), and 9’s (Peacemakers), so that’s cool. Methinks we can relate to one another in this regard. Very conflict-avoiding we are, yes. 🙂 4w5 indicates a 4 with a wing of 5, meaning that the person is an Individualist who also possesses some Investigator attributes. A 4w5 is a bit more introverted and less concerned with image than a 4w3, which is the other type of 4. As a 9, you would have a wing of either 1 or 8 (because those are the numbers adjacent to yours on the Enneagram figure).
I so agree, The Silmarillion definitely is a lot of fun! I kinda do like mythology, although I guess I’ve never really thought about it much. I like Tolkien’s mythology, anyway. Greek mythology, not so much. But it’s just not something I’ve looked into. 🙂

@MelancholicWriter @Zee @Erynne @Arindown
I’m sorry this is so late, but thank you so much for all of your recommendations and non-recommendations! XD Erynne, I have The Witch of Blackbird Pond on my reading list. It’s wonderful to know it contains no witchcraft. XD Some of my other friends like it as well! MelancholicWriter, I’ve just finished the first book in the Wingfeather Saga, and I’m definitely planning on continuing the series. Zee, thank you for offering your counsel and advice in writing stories in this genre. I’ll definitely keep your offer in mind, and may send an email your way sometime soon. Right now, my romance is on hold, just ’cause, but when I change that, I now know who to turn to for help. Thank you. Arindown, thank you for your non-romance books-with-romantic-subplots recommendations! I definitely plan on reading Brandon Sanderson and absolutely loved Anne of Greene Gables, so methinks I will now add some of those to my reading list. Thanks! 🙂

@emma-walker I’ll look forward to it. 😉

Hey, @lonathecat ! Thank you so much! That’s cool that you have an INTP brother and INTP friend. Lots of fun with INTPs, it seems. 🙂 I actually feel as though I’m an INTP-INFP hybrid. I initially thought I was an INFP when my first test results told me so… Personality stuff can be confusing. What’s your MBTI? Have you taken the Enneagram?
My favorite book by Tolkien is The Silmarillion. It’s one of my all-time favorites! I’ve also read The Hobbit and most of The Lord of the Rings (although since I grew up with the films, the books were very different). How about yourself?

@emma-walker Cool!

Thank you, @erynne ! Right now, I’m attempting to write a young love romance. I also like writing posts for my blog and (occasionally) poetry. How about you?
Believe. Hope. Love.
@emma-walker Do you think you’ll return sometime?

@winter_rose Thank you! I like to use GIMP 2, mainly, and I share my art mostly on my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HeartlightPrintables How about yourself? What program(s) do you like to use, and where do you share your art? 🙂
Like Emma said, we met at YWW. 🙂

Hey, Emma! Cool to see you here! I just joined the Forum, actually, so I’m gearing up to write my own introduction post in a moment. XD Hope you’re doing well. That fantasy retelling of the Book of Esther sounds intriguing, btw!
