Parimis! I now take my leave!
You guys are pretty cool. 😏
@nicoleg The deadline is the end of the week. 😀
SO apparently we’re not doing them officially anymore! I obviously zoned out somewhere along the line and forgot about that. 😅 If you want to, unofficial wars can be organised (e.g. two guilds could agree to do a little war against each other or something), but we won’t be doing anymore official ones.
Ahh, okay. That makes sense. I’m kind of sad we’re not doing them officially anymore, but I know they took a lot of effort and a lot of us didn’t really have the time.
The Parimis and the Meerkats will have to have a duel sometime. 😉
Good luck with your NaNo edits, by the way! 😀
Yeah totally. It’s on. 😆
@jenwriter17 IT’S HERE. NOVEMBER HAS COME, DOWN UNDER. BRACE YOURSELVES. 😱
I’m pretty sure we’ll be doing another one soon? I’ve been wondering too actually. I’ll go knock around on the guildmaster group and see what Daeus has up his sleeves.
I’ll be editing, sadly, but I’m participating anyway for motivation!! I’m Jane Maree on there too. 😉
@edmund-lloyd-fletcher One great piece of description advice I was once given (which has changed my life) is to go through each of the five senses in each new setting.
It doesn’t have to be all five in every place, but sight, sound, smell are good ones for a room. If it’s something touchable, describing the texture is also good.
@wisdomofprose Hey! So glad I noticed this thread. A great question!
First of all, I haven’t actually written anything for Story Embers due to being busy with other duties, but I’ve got a fair amount of experience in writing articles in general, as well as a familiar knowledge of the spirit and goal of the SE team! With that, let me give you some…[Read more]
@esther-sears You can do iiitt!!!
@eden-anderson You totally should make a topic for NaNo-ing people! It could be so encouraging to have a little group on here to support and inspire each other. I say go for it!
The exams are split up on separate days for different subjects and things, so she’ll be doing them for another few weeks. Not sure when they finish.
Just dropping in here with another quick update and prayer request for your guildmaster, the amazing Jess. She’s just started her end of school exams (the HSC in Australia. Possibly synonymous with the SAT, but I’m not 100% sure of the AUS – US translation. 😛) and I know she’ll appreciate your prayers! Currently she’s doing alright.…[Read more]
@wordsmith Anytime! Thanks for tagging me; I’m always happy to help. 😊
My writing is going okay! I’m currently in the middle of planning my edits, after getting feedback from a professional editor. Hopefully November will see me editing away and by next year I’ll be finished pretty much all the edits I can do.
Thanks for tagging me, Buddy!
It is okay to switch between omniscient third, and close/limited third, but it’s best and most effective to split it very clearly from the main text, otherwise the POV won’t feel as genuine for the rest of the chapter.
I’d recommend making a short interlude/aside ‘chapter’ for these…[Read more]
@christlover I’m not sure about any mystery writers in this guild (as I’m only a substitute guild master), but if you’re looking for one on the general forum, I’m pretty sure Parker dabbles in mystery, if you want to hunt him down. 😉
