@ethan-leonard an excellent idea to have a time limit! I may start it late tonight, on account of there being a very significant time difference for one member.

@ethan-leonard @the-inkspiller thanks. I’ll do a “poll” in the next day or so and see what the interest is.🙂 Looks like most people want discord, but the poll will make it all clear.

Both when you press the “add link” icon and when the link is in the body of the text?

@ethan-leonard @calidrs @the-inkspiller @e-n-leonard @joelle-stone @anyone I missed
I don’t have discord, and neither does Joelle, if I read her post correctly. I may or may not be opposed to getting it–haven’t decided yet. My idea is to wait a few days and see how many others are interested in this idea, and then split into groups: a group…[Read more]

@irishcelticredflowercrown shall I use the email address your newsletter comes from, or shall I give you mine, or do you have another address you’d prefer? (Assuming email works for you?)

@e-n-leonard got it! You may edit it out if you wish, now. I’ll just shoot you a quick email to make sure it works, then I’ll start a thread when we have our group together.

Hello everyone!
I am trying to get 4-6 people together to form a writing spring group. Basically, we get together at scheduled times to do writing sprints. It could be weekly, biweekly, monthly, whatever. I just think it would be good for me to do sprints, and it would be so much funner and more accountable with others!
I was hoping we could…[Read more]

@ethan-leonard @rose-colored-fancy Happy birthday and welcome to legal adulthood! I hope you both had awesome days. Did you do anything special?
And, Rose, that was directly my fault for getting Tul involved with two interactions at once, lol. I can carry on a dual timeline if you want to interact before him and Val are done, though. Dual…[Read more]

Emily Waldorf replied to the topic Morally Ambiguous Characters in the forum Fantasy Writers 2 years ago
I think it is important to not leave the audience (reader/viewer) feeling confused or muddy. As long as real right and wrong are clearly portrayed–nit only portrayed, but given emotional backing–I don’t see a problem with morally grey characters. To get specific, I think that to have a really “protagonistic” protagonist they need to fall on the…[Read more]

(I’ve heard that ravens are rare, I should say. I don’t know for sure. Also, I don’t read Poe’s work much, either. Just that one).

@calidris that sounds like a good method! I’m so glad it works for you. I think it will be tough for the first while, but maybe with practice it will get easier. ? You’re going through “Saves the Cat, Writes a Novel,” right?
Ravens are rare here. We have one pair that has a nest in a water tower here, and sometimes you can see them far off,…[Read more]

Tullian
“Um..him?” The girl drops the hand of the terror-stricken man.
No, not him. I didn’t know you were holding hands.
“Oh, I was talking about that guy.” Great. Now she’s annoyed. Really annoyed. And she’s going to take it out on her boyfriend.
“uh, neither, I guess?”
Say something. And not ‘I know how you feel’. People say that all the…[Read more]

@E-N-leonard Whahahahahha! Good work! I really love the sacrifice you came up with for Jade. I can sense that it’s still rough, but I think you have the foundation for a good story here. Give me a while to mull over and pray about it and I’ll get back to you with more specifics. 🙂
