Ooh, I loved TLJ.
Hm…fictional characters? I don’t know if I have any that I specifically relate to, just the dark angsty ones. *grin*
Fanfiction was one of the ways I got into writing. I did it even before I started coming up with my own original worlds. I’d take a show/movie I liked and make a character for it, then drop them into the plot…[Read more]

Hey! I’m on messenger a lot– so if you need someone to shoot ideas back and forth with, you can find me on FB as Elizabeth Kuhn. I totally get you–I process by writing out my ideas in text, which either annoys people or helps. Sometimes it depends on the day, but I’m always free. 😉

Ah, gotcha. Well, not all magic has to use wands. I know I mentioned Harry Potter, but seeing as how your WIP isn’t Harry Potter, you can do whatever you want.
ooh, a coin sounds cool. Maybe the bowstaff could be…I dunno, twirled around or something, make a sort of shield?

Elizabeth replied to the topic How to write modern magic? in the forum Characters 5 years, 11 months ago
Well, I guess it all depends on whether or not people fight with your magic. Is it more of a long-distance type power or is it better used for hand-to-hand combat? Sometimes it’s easiest to consult movies or tv shows that emulate the same type of style you’re looking for–Harry Potter comes to mind for this–just to give you an idea of what your…[Read more]

I’m definitely not stealing this idea from @ericawordsmith, nope.
*coughs*
Okay, yes, this idea is stolen from Erica, but I don’t think she’ll mind. Maybe I should have asked first.
…oopsie.
Anyway, hello, fellow introverts! I realize a thread like this may start rather un-introvert-like socialization, but we all need to get out of our sh…[Read more]

I feel kind of dumb asking this question because hey, I’ve outlined before and successfully written a story…but it’s time to face the facts: when it comes to plotting the actual plot, I’m no good.
I love creating characters, and worldbuilding more or less comes pretty naturally. But the plot? Man. I sit down with the intention of giving my…[Read more]

Elizabeth started the topic A Question (I don't know what to title this) in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 11 months ago
First things first: hi everyone! I’ve been away from SE for a bit because of school and work, but school is over for now and work is winding down as Christmas creeps closer (eeep!) so I thought I’d pop in and say hello!
And now for the actual question. Or maybe it isn’t a question, just…an introduction? To my new WIP. But also a question,…[Read more]

I think I’ve already commented on this thread once, but new WIPs mean new characters, so…
*ahem*
I have three.
Kova: He’s reckless, hot-headed, and stubborn, but he’s got a heart of gold and is willing to do anything to save the people he loves. Kova’s an elemental monster in human form, and his power over darkness is nearly uncontrollable,…[Read more]
