@sarafini I didn’t know you played video games!  What are some of your favorites?

@sarafini Those stories sound really interesting!  I’ve sometimes wondered about writing a contemporary story…but I think I love the historical aesthetic too much XD  We’ll see!

I’ll tag some people I know!  I’m not sure how many will respond (since the forum has been pretty quiet) but I’d love for you to get to know some people here <3

@sarafini It’s so nice to have you here!  I’m sorry about the relative lack of activity :'(  SE goes through cycles of being furiously active, and then hardly active at all.  Last summer was crazy, so I’m assuming that people start returning as school ends 🙂  For now though…

What kinds of topics are you interested in?  There’s not much right now, but as it starts picking up again I can keep an eye out for discussions you might like (also for when I want to start a new thread.)  Do you like writing games?

    What’s your current WIP about?

You can tag people by typing @ and then their tag (not their name.) So for me, my tag is @calidris even though I changed my name.  You can quote people by highlighting a section of their text, and clicking on the “quote” label on top of their post.  Hope this helps!  And welcome to SE!

@inkhorn sounds good!  I’m kind of wondering if maybe we should start somewhere new, instead of picking up where we started….thoughts?  Although the fashion show would be fun….but we also could save it for when more people are free.

I’m also considering maybe taking out Val and bringing in a brand new character, since she seems to be developing better outside the castle :’)

“Would your character rather kill to stay alive or die to keep their friend alive?”

Reiner: Kill.  All of my friends die anyways

Val: Can I kill to save both me and my friend?

Kit: Kill, of course….but I’d die for you, Val 😉

Sebastian: Kill, obviously.  Let each of us die for our own deeds.

Milo: *nervously* Can I not get in a situation where I have to choose?

Eli: I’d die for my brothers, but I won’t go down without a fight (Kit and Milo: :’)

@koren-the-starlighter Hello!  It’s great to have you here!  Story Embers has been such a huge blessing in my life, and I’ve met so many friends through this community.  I hope it’ll be a blessing to you too <3

Right now I’m working on a fantasy inspired by Prohibition and a short story set in WW1.  I’m also working on developing an idea for a WW1 historical fantasy 🙂

    What’s your WIP about?

Hi Mia!  I’m going to be participating in Crazy Writing Week too (for the first time!)  I’m so glad you found SE – it’s been a fantastic resource and a really great environment for discussion and growth.  What genres do you like to read or write in?  Do you have a WIP you’re working on?

    See you around at CWW!

@emily-waldorf We haven’t done any character castle stuff (except for a proposal of turning Saevus’ armor hot pink for the fashion show XD)  I think we’ve mainly just gotten distracted by other discussions and writing 🙂  We haven’t progressed without you!

Hi Kayla!  I do remember you, and I’m glad you’re back!

What’s your WIP about?  Do you have any favorite books?  What are some of your favorite crafts?
That’s really cool that you’re learning to knit!  I never learned to knit, but it does seem fun (and practical.)

I think that SE is…unfortunately rather inactive at the moment.  I think that because the group tends to have a lot of younger people, it gets quieter during the school season.  I also think that sometimes (probably because the groups tends to be younger) some people might feel a little awkward talking with an adult 🙁

Personally, I think that the best way to get in touch with people on SE would be to search for active threads you’re interested in, and try to participate in those.  Just putting yourself out there and making yourself active and visible in the forum will really help people to start recognizing you and remembering you when it comes to other future activities!  I really like participating in advice and discussion threads – by offering help, people started seeing me more and associating me with those kinds of topics, so then they’re more likely to tag me in the future.  Then, I get to participate in more discussions, and start getting to know people with similar values and interests!

It took me a few months to really start getting integrated in the SE community, and I think that was mainly because I was invited to one of the character castle games.  I’ve been here for over a year now, but I think it’s safe to say that by now I feel pretty well connected, and “at home” here.  I think with any group, it does take a while, and that can be hard (especially if you don’t have any connections here to begin with.)  Are there any groups, topics or activities you’re interested in?  SE is pretty inactive right now, but I can try to keep an eye out for things you might be interested in!  It also doesn’t hurt to join a genre group – even though a lot of them or pretty dormant right now.

Also, if there’s a topic you’re really interested and get involved with in, you can subscribe to it to get email updates so you don’t miss out on the conversation 🙂

I think also, when people get busy, they pick and choose which topics and people they reply to – I often choose topics that are really interesting, or that involve a friend.  Sometimes, I Sometimes I’ve started threads no one answered, but I know it has nothing to do with me – people get busy, or just don’t have the energy to get involved in one more thing.

A lot of my friendships with people here really deepened through social media apart from SE, so I would say that this is a huge contributing factor.  Blogs/newsletters, Instagram….a lot of people here are also on Discord (including myself.)

I saw your blog, and I found it very interesting!  I’m working on one….kind of.  I got distracted, but I do plan on working on again it soon XD Once I get that finished/published, I’ll go follow you!

Off the top of my head, here’s some people I think you might be interested in meeting!

participated in the Daughters of the King camp

    @the-inkspiller
and @storysmith I know for a fact are both over 25 (I’d imagine it is probably easier for adults to talk with other adults tbh XD)
