Hi everyone,

          I just joined recently but thought I’d jump right in and introduce myself and my book I’m currently working on. I’m 18 and I enjoy writing (of course), composing music- especially ‘book soundtracks’. I love coming up with new, out of the box plots and ideas for stories as well. I play tennis and enjoy gardening. Right then- my book. The title of my book is “Of Skrient and Survival”. It’s a Sci Fant story and here is my ridiculously long sentence blurb (It’s a struggle to summarize a book in three sentences): Life in the Skrient village is never dull- between Wrapawraths, digging for the ever elusive Quiggle Root, and sightings of the Greatest, Biggest Humflapper- it is hard to ever be surprised. But Papful, leader of the Skrient, is surprised by the discovery of Caessi, who he assumes is a Heavenly Being. Papful assumes wrongly though; when it comes to light that Caessi is not a Heavenly Being but the Skrient’s worst enemy- a human- he is exiled from the Skrient village. Join Papful, Caessi and the rest of the Skrient in a tale that celebrates unlikely friendships and teamwork as they learn more about each other, create stronger bonds, and ultimately discover themselves through heartache, hilarity, and hope.

          Yep, so that’s what I’ve got so far. I plan for it to be a story for middle school kids or a family read aloud. Btw: Caessi’s name can be pronounced by saying the names of the letters K S E with stronger emphasis and pause on the S. I’ve read some of y’alls blurbs and they look really interesting!

            @sam-m Thank you! 🙂

            Hey there! A bit of a late welcome, but better late than never, I suppose 🙂 Your book sounds awesome!

            And nice to meet you! I’m Livi. I’m a week away from turning 16, and I also enjoy writing (surprise, surprise XD). I love music, and I’ve tried to compose a few songs (none of them went anywhere, but it was a good effort). Do you play any instruments or do you just compose? (I consider myself a violinist, but I can play piano, mandolin, and guitar as well.) I play table tennis (have played for about 5 years), and I enjoy hunting and fishing. Gardening is my mom’s area. I like being outside, but I’ve never found it enjoyable to garden. It’s just not for me.

            Anyway, a few other random notes… I’m a dual credit student at my local college, I love Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit, I think it would be cool to learn Anglo Saxon, and I occasionally write poetry.

            So that’s me! I hope you enjoy SE and make some friends, and I wish you productivity and writing sprees 🙂

              Hey Livi,

              Nice to meet you. I’m Mason but my nickname is Birdman (hence my username). Happy early birthday! That’s cool that you’ve tried composing. I do play the piano and I tried to teach myself violin but I found out that I’m a miserable self learner/teacher. I love The Hobbit and LOTR! Such great stories and enjoyable reads. Thanks for taking time to read a little about my book too! Hope your writing is going well.

              Best of luck to you,

              Birdman0926
