I took the quiz, answering as honestly as possible, and I got Advanced…

I guess I should be proud of the score I got, but… I can’t help but feel like I answered wrong.

Anyone else feel this way?

I also got a higher rank than I think I deserve. Self reporting assessment isn’t usually the best tool on its own, but can be useful alongside outside critique.

If you can manage it, polish a story that uses as many of the elements as possible (like, make sure you have an antagonist and a theme), and ask a few people to take the test for you, giving answers as they apply to your story.

I agree with Taylor, though, it is a helpful tool taken with a grain of salt.

Well, it is a lot of self-evaluation, and I know people who have taken it and come out with a super high rank when I have read their writing and consider it not nearly that good, lol! Thus I don’t really know how accurate that estimate is of me until I actually finish and publish a book, I guess. 🙂

I get what you mean. I tried to answer all the questions honestly, picking a lower number when I wasn’t completely sure, and all that. I wish I could find some people to beta-read my work, to let me know if the test score was even remotely accurate. XD

Yes, lol! I think it is probably accurate, but I guess the real test is after you publish your work?! 😛

Publication??? Oh boy. XD I’m barely brave enough to let even my closest friends read my work, haha. I haven’t even really considered trying to get it published. Right now I’m just focusing on finishing the book. XD

Have you thought about publication? Like, are you going to self-publish, or not?

XD! I have thought about it somewhat, and I think it will depend on which book, as far as whether I use self-publishing or traditional. I might use different methods for different books. 🙂

I agree, though…right now it is ‘finish the books’, (and finish school) first!
