Yep! Do you remember Kiet, Grace, Tai, etc? I finished theirs in 2021 at almost 100k words, and another fantasy novel at about the same word count last summer. Sashal, Daya, Milo, and Averic are some of the major character in the book I’m almost finished outlining!

@emberynus-the-dragonslayer Haha, well, I’m making it my career, which helps. XD Both my last book and my current one were part of my work in the Author Conservatory (the cleaning business is, too).
I could not possibly write without an outline. XD I can’t even manage to write a synopsis without outlining it first…

I’ve bene thinking about coming back to Story Embers for a while now, and was so excited to have been mentioned and involved in something again
I also have new characters now- I haven’t written the old ones in a while, and their story was never finished. I do love these ones a lot though, and I think this thread will be great for myself getting to know them better :]

Would your character rather kill to stay alive or die to keep their friend alive?
Nemo: I’ve never had to kill someone protecting myself, and I wouldn’t want to. But in a survival situation, it might be better. I don’t have a friend I can imagine dying for.
Miriam: I would die for any friend, I think. Especially a lover, dying for them would be so romantic. And I don’t think I could kill anybody.
Would your character rather kill their friend in a merciful manner or let their enemy kill them in a cruel one?
Miriam: I would never hurt a friend of mine. And maybe we could die to this enemy together? I wouldn’t want to let that happen, but I couldn’t live with myself if I hurt someone I love.
Nemo: I can’t imagine killing someone, especially not a person I cared about. But if it were to keep my enemy from hurting them, I think I’d have to. It’s better than letting an enemy win.
New Question(something happy for a change): Would you rather have to always wear your least favorite color or only be able to listen to your least favorite genre of music?
Miriam: I wouldn’t be able to give up the music I love! And besides, I suppose I could embroider some pretty design on the clothes so I like them better.
Nemo: I guess that music I don’t like is better than none at all? Wearing bright colors isn’t just uncomfortable, it would cause problems with my job.

Thank you! I’ll miss the old characters too. I’m glad they were liked, and they helped me along my writing journey a lot.
I’ve mostly had school, same as usual. I’m in a program to get some college credits and it takes up a lot of time- and I ended up getting accepted into a college this semester but promptly dropped out because it just wasn’t working for me.
And I’ve been doing some collaborative writing, mostly; and I fell down a fanfiction writing rabbit hole. . . I literally write so many original plots now but no “original” characters. I just take ones I love and put them through life-changing experiences until they’re sort of mine /lh

Well I’m graduated now and am trying to figure out what’s next for me. I quit the job I had though I’m still dating the guy I met there. I’m still trying to work on my writing, but I’ve had a lot of really bad burnouts

Aliree: …I like things. I don’t have… a least favorite color? I don’t listen to much music either, really just what Ashe or Effie are playing.
Charlotte: Ew. I don’t like this question. Ummmmm…. my fashion major side would absolutely hate wearing mustard yellow and neon orange all the time, so I guess I have to pick listening to my least favorite music all the time. Ugh. I can only stand so many angsty movie ballads.
Marley: I’m with Charlie. Ew.
Effie: I would rather be able to listen to whatever music I’d like. If that means wearing hot pink for the rest of my life… so be it. I think.
Tommy: I don’t like any music. Does this mean I can finally have silence or does this mean I have to listen to it? I don’t understand.

Zach: “Wow! Which one . . . You know, I think I’ll become a Dragon. But I assure you, I would be a good dragon that would help rescue the damsels in distress instead of eating them.”
Tisha: “I’ll see the future. Probably depressing but insightful.”
Megyn: *considers a moment* “I think I’ll see the future too. It could be dark but there will always be a prevailing trace of hope.”
Jim: “Reckon I could try bein’ a dragon.”

Tisha: “This may sound cruel, but it would depend on the situation. As a police detective, I’ve been involved in similar scenarios. If there was absolutely no way to neutralize the threat and protect my friend, then without a doubt I’d die for them. But rather fight or find a way to save us both.”
Megyn: “I’d die for them.”
Jim: *nods* “Kinda agree with Miss Tisha but if it came right down to it, I’d rather die for ’em.”

Zach: “My height. My body and my personality have been mismatched for a while now. And, well, *gestures to his face* “Who would want to change this?”
Tisha: *rolls her eyes at his comment* “I would actually change my height too. I’ve always been a little too tall for my liking.”
Zach: *Stares at her half-pretend horror* “Don’t do it. You’re perfect like you are.”
Megyn: *nods* “I agree. And I couldn’t get used to you being short like me.”
Tisha: *smiles at her*
Jim: “To be honest, kinda like to change my face.”
Zach: *completely horrified* “Why? Why would you want to change such magnificence?”
Jim: “Folks won’t recognize me.”
*Zach looks at Megyn. Megyn smiles reassuringly at him, then at Jim with a sad, curious look. Tisha scrutinizes him, also curious*

Megyn: *very sober, almost tearful* “I – I agree with Zach. I -I couldn’t kill myself.”
Jim: *looks very grave* “I’d have to kill ’em myself. Then probably, put a bullet through my head right after.”
*Zach is shocked*
