Oof, that’s too bad. :\ Actually my brain is pretty whooped. I think I’d better call it a day. It’s been a lot of fun, though. ๐Ÿ™‚

And hey, just out of curiosity, what part are you at in your story? ๐Ÿ˜€ The poor dears aren’t too far in over their heads, are they?

@hope-mcclellan Okay, I totally get that! How much have you gotten over your daily word goal? You’ve managed to get a lot down! ๐Ÿ˜€

*guilty look* I mean. . . at the moment they’re pretty happy. . . but I’m literally right about to poison one of them. And another one of them is about to be accused of doing it. So. . . I guess you could say that yes, they are in fact over their heads. *hides*

@hope-mcclellan Hahaha, can’t tell you! ๐Ÿ˜‰ But hey, you’ll get to read it in the critique group when I’ve got it ready!

*pouts a little* I better. I need to stop asking because it only ends up the worse for me. I get curious, and my curiosity is absolutelyย insatiable. This is what happens when I get invested. XD

@hope-mcclellan XD *cue happy writer noises* You don’t know how happy that makes me. All right, if my mom’s frequent reminders that I have to finish it before the school year ends weren’t enough, now I’ve got a writer friend to finish it up for! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s probably good for me that you’ve only given me so many plot details of your story. Because otherwise I would be going crazy myself. XD

Hee hee, well I’m glad to have encouraged you! Few things make me happier than making someone else happy. ๐Ÿ™‚ (even if I am going insane with curiosity) I am so excited, so yes, please finish!

Heh, well I’m working on that. I’ve already told you my problems with the plot and structure of my story. As soon as I finish the “story structure” part of Structuring Your Novel, I plan on starting on draft 2, a.k.a I’m going to completely rework the story, create a whole new plot, but still use the same premise, characters, and probably some of the same scenes. Part of me is nervous because I have no idea how I’m going to make this work, but the other part of me is really excited to bring out the full potential of this story.

And thank you so much for pointing me to the resource library on here, because they do have a three act story outline just like you said, and it’s perfect! Literally just what I needed!

@hope-mcclellan Yay! So glad that helped!

Never fear the reworking process (too much). Don’t know if I ever told you, but my WIP used to be a completely different story. The premise itself actually changed. It started (at its basic level, when I was eleven or so) as a story about a girl finding out she’s part of the royal family and running with her cousin to escape their evil uncle who usurped the throne. They end up in hiding in the northern mountainous region of the country until a ton of things broke loose up there. I ended up setting the story aside for a while, then did a lot of daydreaming over long period of time that resulted in me completely scrapping the first half of the story along with the original premise and completely revamping the second half. The characters were TOTALLY different, too. Grace had a different last name and wasย nothing like the benevolent logical mastermind she kind of is now. Dari used to be David and was more like Grace is now than the sometimes overly-pacifistic guy he currently is. Tai Jion used to be (wait for it) Jess Byrd and basically the only thing the same between the two versions is the fact that they both like dogs. And Kiet wasn’t a super major character then, and now he’s huge.

    *cough*

So anyway. Yours will likely not change as much as mine did (I probably can’t over-emphasize how much mine’s changed.). However, all that to say, I like my new version MUCH better! So as Andrew Peterson once said (approximately,) “Hold on tight to the reins and let go.” ๐Ÿ˜‰

(And good luck! It’s tons of craziness and tons of fun. You should have seen the wild outbursts of story-breakthrough-joy my family has had to put up with. XP)

Thank you soooooo much that was so encouraging!!! And wow, your story has changed a lot! I was marveling at how you changed the characters, but then I remembered I’ve sort of done the same thing already. I had been working on developing (not writing) the story for I’m guessing over a year when I decided to replace one of my characters, named Jelia, and I made Firn instead. I like Firn a lot better. That is super interesting how much yours has changed, though! I mean it, thank you; that was super encouraging. ๐Ÿ˜Š

@hope-mcclellan I’m glad! Haha, I love Firn, too. I can’t wait to see more of her! *intense face* *cue Vizzini voice* I’m waiting. . .

Hopefully you finish your reworking process a whole lot faster than I did mine lol! You honestly seriously should, though. My revisions were gradual, in-the-back-of-my-mind in the midst of working on other stories, while yours are more. . . I don’t know if intentional is the word for it, but it’s what I’m going to use. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyways, good luck! I’ll be cheering the whole time! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok, crazy coincidence, I just started re-reading The Princess Bride today, and now you bring up Vizzini. Heh.

And thank you dearie! I’m always grateful for a cheerleader or a little encouragement. ๐Ÿ˜Š
