@anne_the_noob14Anybody around for a word war?
@dylan-yarbrough Do you like word wars? Some of us have ’em on this thread. Mainly just me, Naiya, and Hope.-

@hope-mcclellanBring it! 😉 Although you’ll probably cream me. I’ve hit a bit of a mental roadblock. All the more need for motivation!

@anne_the_noob14@hope-mcclellan *grins* We’ll see… 10 at :30?
(I’ve noticed lots of people doing 15-minutes ones… I seem to get a higher wpm during 10 minutes than higher. *shrugs*)

@hope-mcclellanSorry, taking care of sick family members today, so I’m getting started a little late. I’ll set my timer for ten minutes. 🙂

@anne_the_noob14@hope-mcclellan You’re good! I generally set a timer as well lol cause I know of a couple people I’ve warred with who live in different time-zones 🙂 Okies! I’m starting my timer now

@anne_the_noob14@hope-mcclellan I got 267. I think I could’ve gotten more, had I not had to stop and cry once lol. Working on some pretty angsty chapters. 🙁

@hope-mcclellanI got 178. Told you you’d beat me. 😂 Even with the angst. Not I’m interested…can you give me a little hint at what’s happening?
Care to go again?

@anne_the_noob14@hope-mcclellan *grins* Hey, that’s still progress! I saw a post the other day that said something along the lines of this:
If you write 10k words a day, you’ll have a book. If you write 1000 words a day, you’ll have a book. If you write 500 words a day, you’ll have a book. If you write 50 words before bed, you’ll have a book.
And I thought that was cool.
Hm… sure! 😀 Here’s a snippet:
____________
Greyl adjusted his cowl- Gwen’s cowl- so it covered his face better, and leaned back in the shadows against the wall, away from the light of the single lantern in the middle of the alley, closing his eyes and opening his ears and mind, letting his sixth sense see for him. He reached out with his seventh sense and found the faint pulsing of energy that came from the dying oak that stood on the edge of the market. He found comfort in the energy it still gave off. Not much. But some. Just enough to balance the pain he felt for it. He had once sat up in its branches as a child and young adult, and had a special bond with it through his own energy.
____________
Greyl is like… half tree. So he has a sort of bond with trees, oaks in particular. He doesn’t look like a tree or anything though lol. He’s Chinese-looking. But anyways… Gwen is having her broken, infected arm looked at by Greyl’s friend, and there’s a possibility it’ll have to be amputated. So Greyl is worried about her, as well as this tree. I just switched to his POV in this chapter for the first time ever, and it’s really interesting being in his head more. I like it. 😀
*grimaces* Part of being a writer is researching things that you have no interest in researching. Like wound infections.
Sure! Another 10 at :00?

@hope-mcclellanOoh I like it! I’m a little strange (aren’t we all, though?) I don’t usually like inflicting pain upon my characters, until I’m actually doing it. Then I love it. And I like writing arguments, too. I don’t know what it is with me. XD I guess it’s good that I enjoy all sides of writing, including conflict.
Well I’m a little late for :00 how about :05?

@hope-mcclellanI like the concept for Greyl, too. Sort of dryad-esque. It can be so fun to get into other characters’ heads! My WIP switches POV between my four main characters, and it’s a lot of fun. Most often it’s Asmund, who is an INFJ like me, so he sees things the way I do, he’s the most contemplative of a situation, and he’s observant so I get to describe settings better through him. But sometimes I forget how much fun it is to write from my character Firn’s POV. She’s an ESTP, and she is great for action scenes. And also boring scenes, because her mind and perspective makes it interesting. XD
And hey, thank you so much for the encouragement! ❤

@anne_the_noob14@hope-mcclellan Thanks! I like Greyl, too lol. He’s one of my favorite of my charries. Lol! I’m kinda that way… I feel bad about making my characters sad and hurt… but then I’m like “Ya know what? It needs to happen.” and then I just swallow my love for them and do it XD Ooh… arguments… I’m not good at writing them, but I like writing them.
And I’ve been writing in first-person for the entire book so far, and then I switch to a different person’s POV, and go to third person. It’s a really nice change, tbh. It makes me feel a little freer.
You’re so welcome! I love encouraging people 🙂
And now I’m late for :05 XD I’ll just start mine for 10 minutes as soon as I reset it lol
