    Hello- so I’m new around here and started writing poetry just last year and I thought since I need to stay involved in SE now, I’d post some of my poetry. I’ve never had any serious poets look at my work before so critiques are SO welcome! I hope you enjoy it!

    PRAYER:

    Isn’t it amazing…
    That when we come in prayer
    God hears us when we call;
    We can know that He is there?

    Isn’t it outstanding…
    That every time we plea
    God gives us free forgiveness
    Each time we bend a knee?

    Isn’t it remarkable…
    That each day we can find
    Something to be thankful for
    Inside a gracious mind?

    Isn’t it worth praising…
    That by simply asking
    God will answer prayer
    And rain a show’r of blessing?

    Isn’t it just humbling…
    That we can also know:
    God is in control;
    He has power to say no?

    Isn’t it outstanding…
    That in any place or time
    We can come to Him in prayer-
    Any one of them is fine?

    Isn’t it so loving…
    That even when we whisper
    Jesus hears every call
    From each brother or sister?

    Isn’t it plain crazy…
    That a God who knew no sin
    Came down to earth to die
    So that we’d be welcomed in?

    Isn’t it outrageous…
    That ’cause He loved us so
    He came to die a horrid death
    So we could pray to Him and know:

    That it is so relieving…
    He saved each one of us;
    Just so we could know Him more-
    See Him someday: victorious!

    So, isn’t it just glorious…
    That we can talk like friends
    With the One who made the skies and seas,
    Who loves us greatly to the end?

    Now I lift up a prayer
    To Jesus, Christ: my King.
    I thank you that you hear me now-
    You’re close to me when I’m praying.

    @banana-peacock-warrior That is lovely! I especially like this stanza:

    Isn’t it so loving…
    That even when we whisper
    Jesus hears every call
    From each brother or sister?

    @emberynus-the-dragonslayer: Thanks so much!

    In my poetry notebook, (only counting those I feel are really any good, that I started writing after I discovered I wanted to take it seriously) I have exactly 46 poems. The number grows by maybe 1 or 2 every 2ish weeks.

    Though- I need plenty of practice and maybe a quarter of them will probably never make it onto  SE because they’re about personal topics like crushes/frustrations/trials. Poetry is kinda like the way I like to pray so there are a lot of them.
