    Hello all!

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been on the forum, but with NaNoWriMo coming up in a little less than two weeks, I was wondering whether anyone would be willing to come together as a group to post word counts, offer advice, and encourage each other during November?

I participated in NaNoWriMo a few years ago, and while I didn’t “win,” the drive I got from the challenge helped me finish my very first full-length novel draft later that winter! I would like to try to write a new book draft this year, but with my busy schedule, I really need some help organizing my time/staying motivated.

If anyone else is planning on participating/has any insights to offer on how to balance writing and life, please post your progress and wisdom here!! It is greatly appreciated.

I’m participating in it unofficially–and by that I mean I will attempt to write 50k+ this coming November. I could drop in on this forum every now and then to offer what assistance I can. You planning on writing a book from start to finish or just 50k of it?

I’m just throwing this out there because I really don’t support the real NaNo organization so this year I am joining a writing group called the Glory Writers for NaNo. I am pretty sure they have a website run by two really fun Christian girls (Victoria and Livy) where you can probably find a link to join their “Cabin”. They are also on Instagram.

Just a thought. I’m positive the community will be fantastic.

I am probably only doing a 10k mark this year. XD

Thank-you! I would really appreciate any help you can give. 🙂

Ideally, I would like to write a completed novel with 50,000 words, but I’m not sure that is going to be feasible. The goal that’s most important to me right now is getting in the habit of consistently setting aside time to write/hitting a consistent word count each day. So, even if I don’t finish a book this month, establishing a writing routine that fits into my schedule would be fantastic.

Hey, that’s great! I haven’t looked much into joining the “official” NaNo organization–I know that they’re secular, and I’m not sure whether I would want to be part of that writing community. However, it would be great if I could begin forming connections in a Christian community, which is part of the reason I came to Story Embers again. Thank-you for telling me about Glory Writers! I’m definitely checking them out to see whether I can be a part of their group.

Alrighty, I’m gonna try to do some outlining today and tomorrow in preparation for NaNo. I’ll be finishing up a book and then starting a new one, hopefully. You ready to get writing?
