Hi! My name is Erynne (pronounced Erin) I am 14 years old and have been writing for almost 2 years. At the moment I am writing two stories. One, an adventurous fantasy, and the other a suspenseful drama. I have a good sense of humor and have been known to tease here and there. I enjoy reading, writing, painting, drawing, and baking. I am excited to interact with everyone here at Story Embers!

Hi Erynne! (love that spelling by the way) Welcome to Story Embers!

I enjoy writing fantasy too! What is your adventure fantasy story about? What are some of your favorite books/authors?

    Courage, dear heart.

    Thank you for the compliment!😁

My fantasy story has a very long and interesting plot line XD. It’s about a princess who has a poisoned necklace, and if it gets taken off she could die. After some unfortunate incidents, the necklace gets stolen and the princess’s friends have to go on an adventure to find it before she dies.

I really enjoy the Nancy Drew books, but a few months ago my friends bought me the first two books in The Wingfeather Saga so I have been stuck on those lately. My favorite writer is probably Patricia St. John or Elizabeth George Speare. Thanks for asking 🙂

    How about you?

That sounds very interesting! I’m also writing a fantasy story about a princess. 🙂 How far are you in the writing process?

I loved the Nancy Drew books when I was younger! That’s great you’re reading the Wingfeather Saga. They are amazing books!! Patricia St. John has written some great books. My favorite of hers is Star of Light.

Some of my favorite authors are Tolkien, Jane Austen, Nadine Brandes, Tessa Afshar, and Francine Rivers. Right now I’m reading the Lineage of Grace collection by Francine Rivers and I’m really enjoying it!

I only have a few chapters left to write, then it’s the dreaded editing process… What’s your story about? 🙂

I’m only on the second book of the Wingfeather Saga, but I am relly enjoying it. My absolute favorite Patricia St. John book is Star of Light!!

That’s great that you’re almost done your first draft! (I assume it’s your first draft?) Ah yes, editing . . . not so fun! Although, I actually kind of prefer editing to writing the first draft.

Here’s the synopsis of my story, since it will probably give you the best idea of what it’s about:

Widowed and childless, Princess Charlotte of Tir-Aelyn has always imagined she’d live a quiet life as a healer in her father’s court. But when an evil lord’s treason leaves the king dead and the royal family scattered, Charlotte suddenly finds herself running for her life, the sole protector of her young niece, the next heir of Tir-Aelyn. She begins a long journey across the ocean to create a new life for her and Amaryllis and build a resistance against Lord Tehren.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>But nothing is as easy as she thought. Surrounded by spies, she’s never quite sure of who to trust. Then there’s the problem of the young, brooding sea captain who seems to steal her heart at every turn. And to complicate it all, she seems to possess a strange new power that’s never been seen before. When she faces the most devastating loss of all, hope seems further than ever. Can she trust Elohim and conquer her greatest fears before it’s too late?
    ***
Far away on the Southern Archipelago, Keona has grown up among the Alohi people for as long as she can remember. Yet, she’s always known she’s not one of them. Abandoned on the island as a baby, she’s decided to leave her past behind and embrace her future as the island’s healer. But then a trip to the capital city goes wrong, leading her on a reluctant journey to find her parents. When she makes a shocking discovery, she can no longer ignore her past. Instead, she must make a choice: will she accept her past and her new responsibility, or will she run away from it?
Sorry it’s so long! I need to shorten it, but it’s the best I’ve come up with so far 🙂

Oh nice! Who’s your favorite character in the Wingfeather Saga so far?

I will be happy to finish this fantasy. I have a ton of story ideas I want to do, but I can’t start them until I finish this one or else it will never get finished XD. Yes, it is my first draft. Hopefully editing won’t be that bad for me either. I’ve heard that everyone hates editing so I assume I will too but who knows.

You’re story sounds very cool! Exactly like something I would read 😉 How far along are you? It sounds like it took some serious brainstorming!

My favorite character from the Wingfeather Saga…. Peet the sock man of course! I knew he would be my favorite the moment he entered the story😁

I totally get that. If I have too many stories going on at once, I end up not finishing any of them! :p I actually think editing is kind of fun because you get to go back and figure out problems and make your story better. It’s writing the first draft that I really don’t like because it feels so . . . rough and imperfect. XD

Thank you! I’m glad you like it. I’ve been working on planning it for a couple years, but I only started writing it within the past year. I’m about halfway through my first draft.

Oh yes, he’s one of my favorites too! Janner is another favorite because I can relate to him in many ways (I’m also the oldest in my family). I also like some of the characters that come later on in the series (I won’t spoil anything for you! :p)

    Courage, dear heart.

I feel the exact same way about the first draft! As much as I enjoy writing, it’s not easy that’s for sure XD

It sounds like you’ve been doing well for having that much written already! I started my fantasy last March (maybe?) and I’ve only got a few chapters left, but I didn’t plot a single thing out. I saw a pic of a necklace in my Language book, the idea came to mind, and that was it! (Idk why I’m telling you this, it doesn’t make sense with what I was trying to say) Good luck with the rest! 🙂

I like Janner too! (I’m also the oldest😁) Peet is my favourite because he’s so silly, ani have a feeling he has a really cool and interesting back story. Thanks for not spoiling it! ;P I’ve got to watch what I see on the fantasy group for that reason, lol.

It sounds like you’ve made great progress! (And that makes total sense! Inspiration can come at any time, even when it might not seem to make sense 😉

Oh cool! How many siblings do you have? And I agree, Peet is a very interesting character with a neat backstory. I love that he has a redemptive character arc. Lol, you do have to be careful! XD
