    Hope you all enjoy!

    All of the Pieces
All of my pieces I’d scattered o’er
The cracks in the surface of my stone heart floor
All of my days were lost so empty
Then You came and picked up the pieces of me

All of these pieces I wish would fit
That something would let up for a little bit
Yet in every day I must trust You
To put pieces in place, see this puzzle through

All of these things I should leave with You
Because You see it all, the best point of view
Every piece You know where is goes
You saw how they connect before time arose
I should leave in the hands of Him Who can see
All of the pieces of me

All of the pieces I see around
They fit well into other lives, safe and sound
In the moment my wish in
Their pieces were part of my puzzling life

All of their pieces I force to fit
They bend and break apart and sometimes they split
All of theirs may never fit in mine
You never mix up pieces. All in time align.

Even though I may never know
Where You worked, where all my pieces go
All of the pieces I can’t see
All of the segments of my destiny
I should leave in the hands of Him Who can see
All of the pieces of me

    Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

Don’t really know what to say about this one. Any and all critiques welcome!

My Morning Song (What you will say to me)

    The sunlight is dawning
And though I am still yawning
    I will say ‘Good Morning’
And open my ears to hear
What You will say to me

    The sun climbing higher
Ringed by gold, amethyst and fire
    As I sing hallelu
And extol Your name to honor You

    Unto the hills so high
Bathed in light from the golden sky
To You I’ll lift my eyes
And put all of my life into Your hands

    The sunlight is dawning
And though I am still yawning
    I will say ‘Good Morning’
And open my ears to hear
What You will say to me

    Opening up Your Word
Is the only way for Your voice to be heard
To start this day off well
I must gather truth and never sell

Your words are pure and clear
    Every humble prayer You’ll hear
    So I will humble me
And open my eyes to truly see

    So I’ll quiet the hour
So my life isn’t turned sour
    I will say ‘Good Morning’
And quiet the hour to hear
    What You’ll say to me
    Before I go about
All the daily routine and route
    I’ll stay upon my knees
Long enough to lift my heart’s pleas

    Help me quiet the hour
So my life isn’t turned sour
    I will say ‘Good Morning’
And quiet the hour to hear
    What You’ll say to me

    Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

@dakota I love this <3 I’ve been really feeling what you wrote in My Morning Song, especially of late.  It was so refreshing to read and quieted my soul : ) Thank you for sharing, my friend.  I hope you’re doing well!

Okay, I guess I’ll post in this thread when I remeber too! LOL.

Here is my latest poem. Critique and enjoy!

    True North

It seems that all the world has lost it’s directions
All sorts of excuses, all kinds of protections
    Against the True North
And here I am, lost in all this confusing chaos
In the questions whirled, in a tempest toss’d

Is all they like out there confusion in dense fog?
Through muddy and dark sidetracks and switchbacks slog
    Where is a compass?
I want to know where I am going on this road
Am I on the narrow path to my abode?
    Where is a compass?

    There is a True North
    The never-changing absolute instruction
    The go-to, no substitute direction
    There is a North Star
For them all both the great and the small
The Right Path to take, and that’s all
    All that I will need
    My only True North

On Earth there are really only two ways up above
In search for destiny, quest for lasting love
    Searching for a home
The One ends in eternal glory with the Son
The others in punishment for what we’ve done

To ride that highway that is wide most are hasty
The faithful, those who take this road are in safety
    They have a Guide
Those riding the way that is wide endanger
The Wrath of the King, be to Him like a stranger
    Without a Guide

    Christ is a True North
    The never-changing absolute instruction
    The go-to, no substitute direction
    Christ is a North Star
For them all both the great and the small
The Right Path to take, and that’s all
    All that I will need
    My only True North

    Christ is my True North
Confusion reigns, but He is my only guide
To land me safely on the other side
    Christ is my North Star
    I’ll navigate this insanity
With His help arrive at His city
    All that I will need
    My Only Truth North

    Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

This one is another very personal to me.  Critique and enjoy!

    Twenty-One
    Sometimes I don’t think I qualify
    For twenty-one
Weighed down by the times I have to try
    I’ve never won
With frayed ends and too much weight, I sigh
    Doubt I could fight
    For the Holy One

Twenty-one years, not gettin’ any younger
Twenty-one times I could have been stronger
And all the tears I cry at my failure
And all the prayers my cries to be more pure
    Over all twenty-one

    Sometimes paths cross, confusion ahead
    I come undone
Sometimes I’m spun around my own head
    I come undone
God, I need trust, not give up instead
    Trust in your plan
    You’re the Holy One

Every time I think that I have failed
Every time I’ve fallen and flailed
I can stand right back up and brush off my soul
I’ll be thinking on You, for You made me whole
    Overhaul twenty-one

Set by step, walked over twenty one years
Truth by Truth, You are allaying my fears
Inch by inch, and gaining strength as I grew
Piece by piece, I will become like You

Twenty-one years, not gettin’ any younger
Twenty-one times I’ll try to be stronger
And all the songs I’ll sing as on I journey
And all the prayers, to trust until the heav’nly

When it’s all been said and done
    I’ll go home. Good-bye, twenty-one

    Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.

@dakota Ooh, nice job! That actually kinda reminds me of the song “Twenty-Four” by Switchfoot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6oCFVGuSyQ

Hearts are like matter--they can be beaten down, torn, and burned, but they cannot be destroyed.

WHOA!! Has it really been THREE MONTHS since I posted in this thread?!  . . .

    Okay, it has.

Tell me what you all think of this poem.

    Rainbow in Waterdrops

Come down from the clouds once again
Flash lightning bolts through the sky
I’m soaking wet, wishing for dry

Raindrops are melting from the eaves
Small gems on the numerous leaves
Look up close, nothing better to do
    Discover a whole new worldview
Raindrops are pounding on your head

In the droplets from heaven there can be found
Arches of color wherewith mighty clouds are bound
In those midnight moments when all seems dark
Flickers of light can revive a glowing spark

    Rainbows encased in waterdrops
    Hope hidden within great despair
Joy lights our lives, though flooded out
    Arch colors over misted air

Rainbows will fill the sky again
    Though momentary, shining gems
Add vibrant hues to the blue
New worldview, and what will you do?

From neon to pastel, they come
They’re royal to crown a kingdom
In doubles and singles they span
Blue skies above this chaos called man

In our lives on the ground when the darkness falls
It can be hard to see through these dense rainy squalls
Yet those rainy days allow life to abound
Flowers must sprout and rise from the muddy ground

    Rainbows encased in waterdrops
    Hope hidden within great despair
Joy lights our lives, though flooded out
    Arch colors over misted air

Without rain, the rainbows wouldn’t lift the sky
Shadows are proof that there’s a Light shining out there
Downtrodden drives us to hope, sparkle for your eye
In the stormy weather, take the sunshine’s dare

    Psalm 119:11
Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
