@Dakota: I love the colors in this poem!

“The embers of color burn down the bank” “Snowflakes whiten the winter wind” “Springtime meadow sprinkled with color” “Stormy days charged with power” “Gentle waves of a tropic ocean” “Misted mountains in shrouds of gray”

These are all really cool sentences. This entire poem is cool! 😀

Me: "Write every inch of your future."

@candide hey your poem about loneliness was amazing

Married a blacksmith, and now frequently uses his knowledge for writing fantasy.

This week’s is very  . . . fresh, I’ll call it. I just wrote it the other day and I haven’t done much editing. Just thought I’d share it with you guys. Riddle it with criticism!!

    Does He? (He Does!)

Well, here I am doubting once more.
    Questions crowd around in hoards
Do I really make a difference or
    Am I really the Lord’s?

Am I not too small to be seen?
Why would an Almighty Father look at me?
He says I am His child, freed and clean.
He says that this is what I’ll always be.

But is it true? Oh, is this real?
Why can’t I get beyond the the things I feel?
Does He care? Does He see
When I live not for me?

    Does He
Take delight when I cry to Him in my despair?
When I kneel and bow my head in prayer?
    Does He
Take delight in my hymns of praise unto Him?
When I persevere when prospects are grim?

Does He know? Does He smile
When I go the second mile?
Does He take, does He delight
When this wayward child does what’s right?

You say in this Book that You delight
In a pure and holy life, lived out for Christ.
When Your children do that which is right,
They find favor in their Father’s eyes.

He says He loves me, this I know
It’s written in the Bible, so it’s so.
I know He cares! He sees
When I live not for ease.

    He Does
Take delight when I cry to Him in my despair.
When I kneel and bow my head in prayer.
    He Does
Take delight in my hymns of praise unto Him.
When I persevere when prospects are grim.

    He knows, maybe even smiles
When I go the second miles
He takes, oh, He takes delight
When His adopted one does what’s right.

    He does
Take delight when I honor His name
When I give Him His due fame
    He does
Take delight when I read His Word
Use it to find a path in a planet blurred

    He knows, maybe even smiles
When I go the second miles
He takes, oh, He takes delight
When His adopted one does what’s right.

So why should I stand in here in doubt?
I must go and live like I’m His
Go outside of myself and live it out
I know He is Mine and I am His.

    Good job again!

I have a story, Fritz, it is called. It’s a kid’s book. At first, it was so short it seemed more like a poem than a story… but not anymore now that I’ve edited it.

@Dakota: The story is about a rat who is always hungry. It’s really short, so for each stanza I have a picture to go with it.

This one I just recently finished after about a month of struggling with it and forgetting about it. As always, critique and enjoy!

    A Candle and a Spark

    The faintest curls of smoke
    Wisp away from my wick.
I live in the thickest of mist
    Lightless, hopeless candlestick

    Are shadows all I’ll know?
While I live on in dark,
I long to be flaming bright.
    But nobody’s shared a spark.

If there’s a candle out there
Burning in this darkest of despair
I wish that flaming soul would spare
A spark to consume this dark

My wick would dance with light
Brilliant and pure in this ash and night
I would burn with all my might
A spark to consume this dark

I yearn to burn, to drive
    Shadows and chill away.
Still here I stand, dark and cold.
    Flames are what can allay.

If there’s a candle out there
Warming the air chilled with despair
I wish that flaming soul would spare
A fire. To burn’s my desire.

    Blacker than I’ve ever known
Colder than the freezing nights alone
Tonight I’m crying. Oh, I groan
For sparks to consume this dark.

    I can envision the fire
Rising from my lifeless, ashen spire
    I wish another would aspire
To kindle a spark in me.
But how when I’m all alone right now?

    I can see all about
    Lamps of His light flickering
Why are they smothered by the doubt
When they have the light that consumes the dark?

    Oh candles of Christ,
Touch them with fire, those frozen souls!
    Light these lonely souls around!
    Please burn for Him again!

If there’s a candle out there
Burning in this darkest of despair
I wish that flaming soul would spare
A spark to consume this dark

If there’s a candle out there
Warming the air chilled with despair
I wish that flaming soul would spare
A fire. To burn’s my desire.

    @Dakota, great job!

Recently, I’ve been writing a poem/story kind of thing. Its about talking flowers… I’m planning on having a collection of them, but I’ve only started writing the first one; of which is about a Rose. I’m not sure if they will end up as poems, or really short stories for children.

@Dakota: If they turn out at poems, yes, I will post them on here! I haven’t wrote poems in a while, so… my poetry writing styles ought to have changed much since last time I posted poems on here.
