September 6, 2018 at 3:05 pm #46687EricaWordsmith@ericawordsmithGreat job @dakota!!! I love it!!! I’m not very good with poetry or songwriting, but my books require some, so I have to give it my best shot! I’m itching to put down my favorite piece of mine, but I don’t want to reveal much about my first book right now. Eventually I might put it up here and tag you to see if you’ve got any critics.
Great job again, I love the topic and the way you put the words together, it’s very inspiring!!!

September 7, 2018 at 12:01 am #46745Libby@libby@jane-maree Thank you so much! I do have a tune for it – trying to learn it on the guitar, but that’s not going too quickly. I can sing it alright, though. 😉

September 9, 2018 at 11:08 pm #47074Libby@libby@jane-maree I have not, actually. Do you use online to do that or just pencil and music-note paper?

September 9, 2018 at 11:33 pm #47079Jane Maree@jane-maree@libby I use MuseScore, which is a free program that’s pretty easy to use and works fairly well–though with some annoying features. xD Pencil and paper are also an option though. 😛

@the-fledgling-artist I’ve been writing some form of poetry ever since I was nine or ten. But only in my teen years have I begun to write with purpose.
@parker @serenity and @jenwriter17 Thank you very much! I hope it encourages you.
@jane-maree Thanks! I try to compose music to my songs. Sometimes a tune or style comes to mind as I write it. There are a few I can sing. I’ll look into MuseScore. I really like your song too.
@libby Thank you! I try to write songs that will edify others and honor Jesus, so your words are very encouraging. Your song is very pretty. I love songs about nature.Psalm 119:11

I really like how it is just talking about water, which is something we all know… I haven’t heard the music, but I bet its really nice!
Yours is really inspirational, too, @jane-maree! and I really love the poetry that you’ve posted, @dakota. Its really beautiful and… I don’t know… sparkly. (= just really fun and a good reminder of perspective.

Sorry if it didn’t do yours right.)
I’ve decided that I will post a different song/lyrical poem of mine every other Tuesday, so here is another . . . “Father’s Arms”
It’s typical for me to fear.
It’s so hard to remember that You’re near.
But when I cry, You reach down from the sky
And You hold me close to Your heart.
My Father’s arms are holding me still
I am at peace for His loves fulfills
Ev’ry need and each craving of my heart.
When the darkness fall around,
There I will be safe and sound.
My Father’s arms is where I’m found.
It’s crazy that I run and hide.
It’s too easy to forget that You’re inside.
Yet You reach our Your hand and help me stand.
As a Father You will guide me.
My Father’s arms are holding me close.
I’m at rest in His love enclosed.
Ev’ry joy and each sorrow of my soul
In His heart is understood
And forever He is good
My Father’s arms is where I’m found.
How deep the love that from above
Reaches out for his fearing child!
How strong the arms that shield from harms!
I can trust in His might hand.
How true the words that I have heard;
He will never abandon me!
How sweet the rest that at His breast
Soothes and surrounds me!
My Father’s arms are holding me still
I am at peace for His loves fulfills
Ev’ry need and each craving of my heart.
When the darkness fall around,
There I will be safe and sound.
My Father’s arms is where I’m found.
My Father’s arms are holding me close.
I’m at rest in His love enclosed.
Ev’ry joy and each sorrow of my soul
In His heart is understood
And forever He is good
My Father’s arms is where I’m found.
In His strong arms He holds me.
As His child I will always be.
My Father’s arms is where I’m found.
So that’s that. Again, feel free to critique, comment and share.
