Have you ever/ do you have a friend who has a friend who you happen to know, and you don’t find that out until you meet that friend at a party hosted by your other friend? Well, I did today and it made the world a lot smaller.

    @Josiah
, I was at the Barry’s house this afternoon, for John Barry’s graduation and was introduced to your dad! Being curious if there was a connection I asked and my mind was blown to find out that your family is a family friend of the Barry’s who go to my church! After establishing the connection, we had a wonderful literature talk.

@inkling-for-christ It happens all the time. And…this is kind of funny, but I know Josiah second-degree, in a way. My grandparents go to the same church as he does. We go to visit them a couple times a year and go to church with them.

Wow, that’s a cool, but I’ve never had that happen to me!

    #37566

@evelyn I didn’t know who he was at the time though.

@evelyn I know!  Also, I wasn’t from Kingdom Pen while it was active. I joined Story Embers on the launch day though.

My professor for earth science and geology classes turned out to be someone my grandparents grew up with. I just picked him because he had amazing reviews. XD

@inkling-for-christ Wow. That is a small world! I had no idea you lived up there in that area. Kudos for making that connection! My dad’s a great conversationalist, so I’m sure it was a good literature conversation!

Also, just as a reminder, you can only tag 12 people according to our guidelines (https://storyembers.org/forums/topic/forum-guidelines/). You’re fine for this time, but just avoid doing so in the future. 🙂

*blinks* Wow. Talk about connection day for me. Given how small my church is, I should be able to figure out who your grandparents are, but… Hmm. You’ll need to introduce yourself to me next time you’re in town!

@josiah Sure! My grandparents are the Kayes. My younger siblings, Ezra and Josiah, have already met you. You told Ezra about your website and as soon as we got home he printed out all of your short stories. 😀

@inkling-for-christ hmm, this kind of incident for me doesn’t come to mind. But I’m sure it’s happened some time in my life 🙂

@jenwriter17, I’m sure it may happen sometime.

I have had a few of these encounters where I found that friend(s) of mine knew someone I knew from a different circle. My brothers say it will only happen in the homeschool community.

Aaaand here’s me over in Australia and most of the people I know live on the other side of the world. xD I can’t say that this has ever happened to me, no.

@inkling-for-christ ha yes I’d say it mostly happens with homeschoolers 😉

Now I’ve got the song stuck in my head. “it’s a small world after all! it’s a small world after all!…” *runs off singing for eternity*

@emma-starr Ohh–yes, I do remember meeting your brothers and hearing from your parents that they had another fiction writer at home. 🙂 Glad to be able to actually “meet” you here!

@inkling-for-Christ That’s crazy! What a small world, indeed. XD I’m sure this has happened to me as well I just can’t think of any particular situation atm. XD
