Sarah
@ajstorytellerI’m Sarah, or you can call me AJ which is a part of my pen name. I’ve looking for a good Christian writing group for a while and yours looks very promising. I am a 20 year old pastor’s kid who’s always enjoyed the realm of fiction and storytelling. I’ve been crafting universes and characters since I was very young and I’ve finally started putting some of those ideas to page. I was raised on Redwall, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, superheroes (especially Spider-Man), and whatever stories Lego felt like creating at the time.
I’ve always wanted to write my own series, and currently am halfway through the first book. The setting is a sprawling city full of secrets in an earth-like world that has forgotten its fantastical roots. One of the city’s secrets is an old team of vigilantes, most of them having disappeared into thin air, now only ghosts in the minds of citizens. But as monsters emerge and wreak havoc, a new generation of vigilantes rise up to the challenge, to defend their city and discover what happened to their predecessors. The truth they find is closer to home than they realized.
The characters, world, and plot have been in development since I was 13, and I’m excited to finally be able to share it with others. I look forward to being a part of your community. Thank you Story Embers for providing this opportunity to help me grow as a Christian writer.

@noah-cochranHowdy Sarah! Glad to have you! I’m Noah, and am also a pastor’s kid. 🙂
You’re WIP sounds intriguing, keep me updated on your progress!
I’m actually quite new to the world of writing myself. I started studying the art of writing in June of last summer, and started my first book near the end of July. So I’ve been writing around a grand total of 4 months. xD My first book is set in medieval France, and opens by following a fellow named Hugon, an expert thief.
What’s your favorite and least favorite Narnia book?
The characters, world, and plot have been in development since I was 13
Then they’ve aged and matured like a fine wine. 🙂

@ajstorytellerFavorite Narnia book is probably The Horse and His Boy, least favorite is a bit tricky, but probably the Last Battle.
Your book sounds pretty cool as well. Hugon sounds like a fun character.

@anne-of-lothlorien@ajstoryteller – Hi Sarah! *waves wildly* Welcome to Story Embers! I’m Anne of Lothlorien. 🙂 I’ve been a part of Story Embers since it’s founding, but I’m only recently getting back to discussions and meeting new people on the Forums. 🙂 I promise you’ll love this place – it’s like a second home, and I’ve met some of my best friends here.
Your WIP sounds intriguing! Would you mind sharing its name? 🙂
I’m 19 years old, a book hoarder, graphic designer, voracious reader, collector of shiny and interesting objects, Disney lover, and I just started a small business on Instagram selling quilled artwork and accessories (@spiralboundco if you want to check it out :)) I too was raised on Narnia and the Lord of the Rings. Haven’t read Redwall, but my brother has, and I became a Marvel fan in my later teen years. 😀 (Favorites are Bucky and Peter Parker :)) Are you strictly a Marvel or DC girl or anything superhero in general? Who are your favorites?
We have exactly the same Narnia taste! My least favorite is The Last Battle, though Silver Chair is close, and my favorite is Horse and His Boy! (They need to make a movie of that, SOON, right??)
I'm short, I like words, and I love people.
No, I didn't draw my profile pic.November 12, 2021 at 1:50 pm #143714Sarah
@ajstorytellerGuardians of Sea Side Point is the series title, the first book is Origins.
I’m not strictly a Marvel or DC fan, superheroes in general have always been a love of mine (I personally blame the Incredibles). It really depends on how well written and entertaining the characters are. I will say that Spider-Man has always been a favorite, but as for MCU, I have a hard time picking. Thor or Steve, probably.
I recently started working with digital art myself, I plan on providing illustrations and character bios in my books. Also, I checked out your instagram and your artwork is very pretty.
Do you have a favorite disney movie? Beauty and the Beast and Tangled are a tie for mine.
November 13, 2021 at 5:01 pm #143789Erynne
@erynneOk, I guess I’ll introduce myself in a more formal way. XD
I’m not sure if you’ll see this or the game first but I’m Erynne either way. I’m quite annoying and I talk a lot. I will also tease, so look out. I’m a 15 year old girl and I’ve been writing for like 2 or 3 years I guess.
I enjoy baking, debating politics and religion, reading, writing, tv, and music. I also obsess over a lot of random things, just a warning.
Your current WIP sounds super cool!! I bet it’s really good since you’ve been working on it for so long! I’m currently plotting out a futuristic thing that’s hard to explain but I will one day figure out how to explain it and tell everyone.
I’m really sorry, it sounds like a robot wrote that… Anyways I’m glad you’re here, it sounds like you’ll be a lot of fun to have around. I hope you enjoy it here! 😁
Be weird. Be random. Be who you are. Because you ever know who would love the person you hide.

@ajstorytellerIt’s a pleasure to meet you!
I had such a hard time trying to figure out how to describe my story too. Someone asked me what genre it was once and I couldn’t give an answer for the life of me. I look forward to hearing what your story is about.
Yikes, now I sound like a robot. XD
November 13, 2021 at 7:46 pm #143863Erynne
@erynneOh I completely understand! Genre is bad enough, but I hate getting asked what my theme is. I too look forward to figuring out what my story is about XD

November 14, 2021 at 10:40 am #143869Noah Cochran
@noah-cochranbut I hate getting asked what my theme is.
No kidding. I very much agree with this. Many books do have central themes that an author based the book around, but in my opinion, the themes in most books are the character arcs taking place in the story, and maybe the villain’s ghost and misbelief as well. When I write and plan my books, I don’t “pick a theme” as I’ve heard some people say. Instead, I build my character arcs.
I just had to come in here and agree with you Erynne, so excuse my intrusion. xD
November 14, 2021 at 5:09 pm #143882Erynne
@erynneHey, no I completely agree. I haven’t really gotten to meet you but I’ve seen you around so hello! *waves like the big dork I am*
When I plot or even when I write for that matter, I don’t ever take my theme into consideration. It took me forever to even figure out what the theme for a story was, then when I did I was like “yeahhh no, I’m good.” I’m glad to meet a writer that agrees with me on that. That’s definitely a first.

@noah-cochran“yeahhh no, I’m good.”
There’s no better way to say it, Erynne. 🙂
*waves back in an equally profuse manner
No I don’t believe we’ve met, have you been on SE long?
Well, tell me a little about yourself, how long have you been writing? What’s your current WIP about? What are some of your favorite books?
What is your great-great-great grandmother’s maiden name? 😉
