Hello everyone! My name is Danielle, and I am so excited to finally introduce myself on here, even though I’ve been reading the articles and stories for a while. πŸ™‚

I have been writing for about five years, and I have been part of writing clubs with friends during most of that time. I love to write fiction books, short stories, and poetry. My current project is titledΒ For the Kingdom.Β It is a fictionized story staged in medieval times. Most of my short stories are challenges that I have written for my writing club, so they are a variety of different genres. My collection of poetry is called Poems for the Seasons currently, although I am working on a new title. πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to get to know other writers here! πŸ™‚

Hey, Danielle! I found you! XD I’m so excited that you’re on here now (even though I guess you have been on here for a while, LOL)! I would say that I can’t wait to get to know you either, but I think already know you pretty well πŸ˜‰

I like the titleΒ Poems for the Seasons! I think it sounds elegant πŸ˜€

Welcome to Story Embers, Danielle! Your current project sounds interesting! What’s the premise? (If you don’t mind sharing, of course XD)

That’s so cool that you write poetry! I’ve always wanted to be a poet XD I feel like I fit into all the stereotypes of a poet except… I’m terrible at writing poetry XD

Hey, Danielle! Welcome to story Embers!

I notice you are also a dancer. Do ever like to write about dance or dancers in your stories?

Hello there! Do you do ballet? I’ve been doing an adult ballet class (so nothing fancy or hardcore lol) for the past two years and I love it! I also do Highland dancing as well πŸ™‚

All right, obligatory question asking…do you have a favourite author or books? And do you have any pets?

Thank you!Β For the Kingdom is basically about two kingdoms which split, and now the next generation has a lot of conflict. Nadine, my main character, is trying to save her kingdom basically; but she pretty much fails and messes everything up more. Its kind of complicated, but a few side characters come in, and she has a grudge against her uncle (who rules the opposing kingdom). Overall, her character arc is negative and then positive, because of a lot of complex things that happen. (She gets arrested, etc.) Lol! Sorry, I’m not very good at summarizing! πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I love poetry, but I haven’t worked on writing it in a while because I’ve been focusing on fiction.

I think I’m strongest writing short stories though, lol. Do you ever write short stories?

Thanks! By “also” were you meaning that I am a writer and a dancer, or that you were also a dancer? Just wondering! Lol πŸ™‚

But yes, I am a dancer! πŸ™‚ I don’t really include dancing much in my own stories so far (mostly because it just doesn’t fit my settings), but I do hope to in the future. I also love to edit though, and some of my friends’ stories that I edit are based on dancing. πŸ™‚

Random Question: What is your favorite book? πŸ™‚

Yes! I have done ballet since I was 2. That’s so cool that you are taking an adult ballet class! Ballet is so fun. What is Highland dancing? I have never heard of that before. πŸ™‚

My favorite authors are L.M. Montgomery and Carol Kinsey. My favorite books are the Anne of Green Gables series, Narnia, and Until Proven Innocent. πŸ™‚ What are yours?

No, I sadly do not have any pets. Although I would love to have a kitten. However, I just got a jade plant earlier today, and although that is not exactly a pet, I am very excited to try and keep it alive. πŸ˜‰

Oooh, that sounds super interesting! And don’t worry, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that’s good at summarizing their book XD

Ah, nice. It must be hard to focus on fiction and poetry at the same time XD

Oh cool! I’ve written a couple of short stories. Only one of them was good though XD I’m trying to get it published on an online magazine or something! They’re definitely not my strength though lol.

    XD
Yeah, I’m always interested in either fiction or poetry for a while, and then I tend to switch off.
That’s so cool! The only things I’ve ever published in magazines was poetry, but I definitely want to publish some of my short stories in the future. πŸ™‚

so, random question, do you have any favorite authors or books? πŸ™‚

    Understandable XD

Nice! I’ve never published anything but I know it’s really good to do so to impress publishers and agents XD

IM GLAD YOU ASKED XD Nadine Brandes, C. S. Lewis, Kate DiCamillo, Trenton Lee Stewart, Jerry Spinelli…. I could go on forever but I’ll stop there XD My top three favorite books right now are probably Fawkes by Nadine Brandes, The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis, and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. How about you?

Oh haha, no. I dance for fun, butΒ  I’ve never had actual lessons. πŸ™‚

That’s cool! Wow, you are the first person I’ve met that actually enjoys editing. Or maybe people just don’t like editing their own things since they’ve gone over it so many times? πŸ˜›

Ahhh I’m never prepared to answer this question haha. Off the top of my head I’d say The Little Prince and Counting by 7’s. How about you?

    Yes! Lol

Oooo… I love those authors.Β  Well, I haven’t ever heard of Kate DiCamillo or Jerry Spinelli, but the other authors I love. πŸ˜‰ Which of Trenton Lee Stewart’s books have you read? I LOVE the Mysterious Benedict Society series, although I haven’t read it in a while. The characters are just so… intriguing. XD I haven’t read any of those books, except I had started reading The Great Divorce, but never finished it.

My favorite authors would have to be L.M. Montgomery, Carol Kinsey, Louisa May Alcott, and C.S. Lewis. (Yes, I like a lot of older books XD) For favorite books I love the entire Anne of Green Gables series, and Until Proven Innocent (by Carol Kinsey, if you haven’t read any of her books, they are totally worth it).

Also, if you don’t mind answering this question lol, is your name Addie, or is that a nickname? πŸ™‚

Kate DiCamillo writes books for like middle schoolers and around that age XD But she’s a really good writer! You should read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. It’s so. good. And you could probably read it in one or two sittings.

I’ve read all of Trenton Lee Stewart’s books, I’m pretty sure. Unless he released a new book in the past couple of years XD The Mysterious Benedict Society is one of the best series ever XD I also really loved The Secret Keepers!

Nice! Lately I’ve been trying to get into older books and read more classics. I love the story of Little Women but I’ve never read the entire book. Someday soon I will! And I’ve never heard of Carol Kinsey, so thank you for the recommendation!

Tis a nickname XD You’d be surprised how often I’m asked that question!
