Bleh, ye of narrow definition =P (though for the record King has in fact written more traditional fantasy and scifi)
At the very least, Doctor Sleep is something I think you’d enjoy. It’s not terribly horrorish and has a strong current of “Where was God through my life as I bore this curse?” turning into “If I hadn’t borne this curse, I couldn’t have been the person I need to be to right the wrong that’s in the world” with a more-than-implied “maybe God was using me through all of this,” which is very out of form for King. It’s a far cry from the Biblical worldview, but I found it very cathartic. And you can easily read it without reading The Shining, which is a lot more horrorish.
