@irishcelticredflowercrown
I am all for more disabled characters in fiction! And that’s so cool she has an eye issue too. I have poor vision and glaucoma and have to wear super thick glasses, and my right eye is the worse too. So I applaud your choice to do that and will definitely buy that book if you ever publish it 🙂"Can't have dirty garbage."
June 3, 2021 at 11:32 am #134713Neasa@irishcelticredflowercrownThank you so much, that means a lot! 🙂 Have you had sight difficulties for your whole life? I know one girl who only got glasses later on in her life because she decided to stare at the sun for a while…
June 3, 2021 at 11:46 am #134714Neasa@irishcelticredflowercrownI’ll do yours now 🙂
Name: Tanya Baker
Age: 18-21 I’d say?
Career, role in story: Best friend or the smart college roommate of the MC
Personality: Warm friendly and loyal. Quite sensitive and quiet, she is always found in the library with her nose in a book. She wouldn’t be very talkative around guys either. But once you get to know her you find she has a surprisingly great sense of humour.
Would you be friends with that character?: Yes she definitely seems like the sort of girl you could grab a coffee with and just chillax. She also looks like a good listener, very understanding and compassionate.
Any other details you may have gotten from the picture: She has great glasses, very stylish. And I don’t know why but I feel like she would be a good singer. The sort that keeps her talent hidden and only sings in private because she’s too shy 🙂
How did I do? XD
June 3, 2021 at 3:45 pm #134721Erynne@erynneWow, this really took off! I’m glad y’all are enjoying this!
I just wanted to let you know that Claire probably won’t be on SE until summer is over. She’s up in New York rn and is super busy, so don’t feel bad if she doesn’t join. She would probably love this though.
You seriously need to make a thread to teach everyone your amazing art skills. I am so jealous XD
Be weird. Be random. Be who you are. Because you ever know who would love the person you hide.
June 3, 2021 at 5:03 pm #134723Bethany@sparrowhawkeYeah, I’ve had sight issues my whole life. I had cataracts as a baby, so my lenses had to be removed. So I really have no depth perception, and my distance vision is very poor. (I’ll never be able to drive because of it.)
Onto your guess!
Name: Her name is Sierra (not sure on the last name as of yet, but I think my tentative choice is Garber). I can see her looking like a Tanya though!
Age: Yep, she’s 20!
Career/role in story: She’s actually the MC’s brother’s girlfriend, but she is going to college to be a teacher.
Personality: Yep, she’s very warm and friendly, and loyal too. I’d say she’s a bit loud and outgoing, but definitely sensitive to others, so she’d be quieter around quiet people. She wasn’t too talkative around guys, but she has a boyfriend now so I guess she figured it out XD She’s definitely a great listener and chill, you impression of her was great!
I hadn’t thought about her being a singer, but I can totally seeing playing acoustic guitar and singing with a group of kids. She does have a unique style though, a mix of classic and geeky.

June 3, 2021 at 5:04 pm #134724Bethany@sparrowhawkeI second @erynne ‘s request! Your art is beautiful, and unique!

June 4, 2021 at 5:57 am #134726Rose@rose-colored-fancyThank you guys so much, I really appreciate it! I’ll see what I can do XD
Without darkness, there is no light. If there was no nighttime, would the stars be as bright?
June 4, 2021 at 12:48 pm #134729Lona@lonathecatWell done! Yours is pretty accurate, almost eerily so haha
Yay! 😛
And you’re right she is quite anti-social to some people, she actually mildly suffers from a condition called aphasia which she was never really treated for. It basically means that she has trouble coming up with vocabulary, so she either does sign language or keeps totally silent. It’s more or less inspired by my own experiences in childhood because I had something similar, I had to go to speech therapy for years.
Oh, that’s so cool! I like how you draw from your own experience to write your characters. It must be true what they say, we write what we know best. 🙂
On the inside though she is incredibly lonely and has a great desire to be loved, though she doesn’t think of herself as worthy of even that.
Awww the poor lil’ muffin. Now I just want to give her a hug. Though, I don’t know if she would take that very well.
Thank you haha those are the bangs that I will never have ever because my hair is too impossible to manage ugh XD
I can relate lol.
YESSS SHE IS NOT TOTALLY HUMAN!!! Thank you! She is a mixture of different mystical races which I won’t give away yet. Shapeshifter isn’t correct, but good guess even so! She can actually manipulate psionic energy.
Ooooooh! Interesting! I don’t think I’ll be able to guess mystical races, unless you mean traditionally mystical races.
OK, you did super well!
Yay! Apparently following wild intuitions works. 😛
Actually she’s that character’s brother’s girlfriend (what a mouthful). So they’re friends, but right now they’re working on getting to know each other better.
Oooooh ok. Well I’m glad they get along. There’s enough stories already about people who can’t stand their sibling’s girlfriend/boyfriend.
I honestly hadn’t thought about that lol. But the first image I had of her in my head, she was wearing glasses, because I knew she was a bit nerdy and studious.
Lol. Nerdy is cool, too. 🙂
June 5, 2021 at 7:33 am #134736Neasa@irishcelticredflowercrownI see, that sounds quite difficult. You know, if anything, it makes your gift for writing even more amazing, because you are able to overcome your obstacles and create stories! That’s something to be proud of 😉
Oh jeepers my guesses were so close, not so bad at all for my first try lol. She does look a lot like a teacher actually, one of those ones who are warm and friendly in general, but once students get on her nerves, they learn she’s not so soft after all 🙂
Oh, that’s so cool! I like how you draw from your own experience to write your characters. It must be true what they say, we write what we know best.
Thanks, I absolutely agree! Yeah this was a pretty new decision I made just recently. I was looking everywhere except at my own life, it’s so funny where we get inspiration sometimes.
Awww the poor lil’ muffin. Now I just want to give her a hug. Though, I don’t know if she would take that very well.
Yeah she would probably break your wrist and then threaten you with a knife. That’s what you get when you deprive a girl from love, they think everyone and everything is a threat. It’s hard to think like her sometimes, because there’s just such a deep level of bitterness within her.
Ooooooh! Interesting! I don’t think I’ll be able to guess mystical races, unless you mean traditionally mystical races.
Do you mean ‘traditional’ as in Faeries, dwarves and giants, and all of that sort?

Haha, yep. I got a major idea for one of my plots when I was just walking along a highway one afternoon. (It had nothing to do with highways, but ya know, inspiration is weird sometimes 😛 )

Ouch. That sounds very traumatic. I hope she finds some love eventually.

Yes, that is indeed what I mean. 🙂
June 6, 2021 at 11:19 pm #134764Lona@lonathecatAlrighty I actually have a sketch this time instead of an AI generated picture. (Yaaaaaaaay.)
Googledrive link cuz’ the file’s too big supposedly: https://drive.google.com/file/d/156NbFx7EopGm5-8V_paMGFrLekhEYfqp/view?usp=sharing
Also, you guys are doing super well with guessing based on the pictures, so I thought I’d make things a little harder with some new questions, in addition to the old ones, if you’d like to use them.
What would this character’s nickname be? Why? :
Character’s greatest strength:
Character’s fatal flaw:
Phrase that this character is likely to say:
June 6, 2021 at 11:49 pm #134767Erynne@erynneHa! First one here, I’m gonna finally answer one.
Name: So, IÂ think I see ‘Jen’ in the bottom corner and even if I don’t, I still say she looks like a Jenny. Before I thought I saw Jen, I was thinking Nia or something that starts with a N
Age: 16-20
Career/Role in Story: she looks like she works/ lives in a village doing chores around a farm
Personality: shy, quiet, and slightly independent. Definitely a people pleaser
Would you be friends with that character?: I could I guess, but tbh, she probably wouldn’t want to be my friend XD
Any other details you may have gotten from picture: she is a book lover and often runs off to her favorite hiding spot, the loft in the barn, to cry. She also apologizes way too much
What would this character’s nickname be? Why?: Well if I was right about Jenny, that would be her nickname with her name being Jennifer. She always goes be Jenny though
Character’s greatest strength: passion
Character’s fatal flaw: fear of everything but especially abandonment
Phrase that this character is likely to say: ummmm “I don’t deserve this”
Boom. Nailed that.

June 7, 2021 at 8:15 am #134770Neasa@irishcelticredflowercrownHaha, yep. I got a major idea for one of my plots when I was just walking along a highway one afternoon. (It had nothing to do with highways, but ya know, inspiration is weird sometimes
Wow walks can be so beneficial sometimes! I’ve found that it helps to clear my head sometimes and helps me to figure out stories too 🙂 Dreams too are an odd source of inspiration for me. I literally had a dream two days ago that I am half considering putting in my WIP, just because it’s such a dark but cool idea.
Ouch. That sounds very traumatic. I hope she finds some love eventually.
Oh believe me honey. She DOES 😉
Yes, that is indeed what I mean.
Oh good, yes so my main character is part human, part Fae and part something else 🙂 this will be one of the main reasons why she becomes rather ostracised by many others even though she’s basically one of the saviours. She’s a bit of everything
June 16, 2021 at 9:26 am #134779Brian Stansell@obrian-of-the-surface-worldHi Rose,
Here are my guesses:
1) Name: Nasrin, Dulcina, Humra, Rhodia, Varda, Wardah? (Each of these are a floral-related names since the picture seems to indicate them prominently.)
2) Age: 18-23
3) Career/Role in Story: Possibly the MC. She may sell flowers in the marketplace. I’m thinking of an open-air bazaar or some foreign (non-US) exotic marketplace. Possibly even on a remote tropical island.
[I’m adding her Faith stance as a characteristic, since we are Faith-based writers, here.]
3 a) Faith: My sense is she is yearning to know the God who made the intricately designed flowers. Nothing in all human creation can ever seem to approximate such intricate beauty, design, vivid colors, and symmetry. Such aromatic fragrances, and gentle and soft petals, surely reflect a God of intimacy and tenderness. Perhaps, the prevailing religion of her world presents gods to her that does not seem capable of such careful beauty and personal wonder.
4): Personality: I think she is a quiet, gentle spirit, fearful in many ways. Dreading who her father might give her away to as if she is nothing but mere coinage to curry favor with those in position or has something he truly wants, rather than her. She believes she is nothing more than a mere asset, a token to barter with, and as such she feels very insecure and unloved. Looking at flowers, she yearns for a god who would so lovingly cherish her, even as He clearly cherished the flowers she admires and wishes she could be. She seeks what she fails to find in her father. Someone who sees her personal value, not a means to an end.
5) Would you be friends with that character?: Yes. I want her to know that there is a God who made her every bit as lovely as any of the intricately designed flowers she admires. She was the value He sought so much that He paid the ultimate price to hold and cherish her, and will not part with her for anything else mankind might offer.
6) Any other details you may have gotten from the picture: I think she wishes and dreams a lot, but is fearful of dreaming too big. Afraid of the disappointment and rejection she expects to come.
