    The man’s face went pale as he shook his head slowly. “I should never have brought him,” he muttered. “The boy was hesitant enough to come in the first place. And I don’t know how he’ll manage the interrogation–”

    “Would you stop?” Gerik burst. His eyes were aflame. “If you ask me, it was stupid of you to trust him in the first place. It won’t even take an interrogation for him to betray you to the Mockingbirds. He’ll tell them the instant he gets a chance, and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.”

    @naiya-dyani  (oh, boy! This is getting interesting. XD )

    “Hold it, Gerik.” Rob cut him off “Do you have any proof that he would do that or are you just prejudiced?”

    Turning, he said, “I’m sorry, Gamma 6.5. If I’d known or had been told” he glanced meaningfully at Gerik “That he was a Sparrow, I’d have pulled him out of there.”

    Everyone, I am so sorry, but I’m afraid I’ll have to drop out. I’m just not devoting enough time to this, and that’s not fair to the rest of you. So… yup. I’ll still be stalking from the shadows, but no longer taking part.

    @urwen-starial
    Since we currently have characters face to face, I’m not sure what you want to do. We could either pretend Reza was someone else the whole time, or work some last thing out that makes her disappear. Whichever you’d like.

    I have no words to describe this feeling of agony. 😭😭😭

    I’m gonna miss you, I know Kenem will.

    Kenem: Wait, I will?

    Me: Yes, she’s leaving, so Reza has to go too.

    Kenem: YEEEESSSSS!!!!! *sees my disapproving look* Oh, that’s terribly sad. Why?

    Me: I’m under the impression it’s the time commitment. 🙁

    Kenem: Oh.

    Thanks for taking part in this and helping us. And thanks so much for hanging out with us here and helping create this world.

    Just a question. . . is Kirat able to lose Talia? Would she ever try to find him again or vice versa?

    Thanks again for all your contribution. lol I enjoy repeating myself. But we’ll miss you. 😢❤<3

    Kirat: *screaming loudly in the distance* Taaaaaallllllliiiiiaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Goodbye.

    Tawny: Farewell and may your hair ever be free of rats.

    Altan: *grabs Tawny and drags her away* I’m soooo sorry. She can’t help but make weird comments about hair, it’s how she was raised.

    Citrine: This is not where I express my opinions.

    Altan: Please ignore all of them. They don’t know what they’re saying.

    Pasha: *barks*

    Altan: Except Pasha. I’m sure his sentiments are appreciated.

    Here’s a quick Pasha part. @emberynus-the-dragonslayer @dakota @naiya-dyani @urwen-starial

    The boy was bleeding. Pasha had to protect him. The human was in pain, so he needed to save him.

    But his boy needed him to stay near. He hadn’t told Pasha to help, so Pasha had to stay. Good dogs listened to their masters.

    But why didn’t his master give him commands?

    Before Gamma 6.5 could respond, Gerik clenched his fists, face growing red. Humiliation and anger threw a haze over his vision. “You’re both idiots!” he exclaimed. “I know him better than both of you combined, and if you won’t listen to me, you can deal with the consequences yourselves!” He turned on his heel and took off down a side alley, hearing nothing but his blood rushing in his ears, seeing nothing but the path right before him.

    —-

    Ooooh, what if Gerik gets captured by the Mockingbirds, too?? That could make for some really interesting conflict with both him and Kiet at the Tower!

    @kayla-skywriter I love Pasha! 🙂 Good job!

    @naiya-dyani
    Hmmm . . . that would be interesting conflict. . .

    Rob flinched at being called an idiot and quickly ‘took the wheel’ of the situation. “Now hold on-”

    But Gerik turned on his heel and took off down an alley.

    Now where is he headed? “Gerik!” Rob called after him, taking a step into the alley. But Gerik didn’t slow.

    That kid got problems he thought, shaking his head.

    (At that this point, Rob could go after Gerik or stay with Gamma 6.5, whichever works best for you. And whichever one Rob decides he need to ‘bodyguard’ the most! XD)

    Okay, I don’t know who wants tagged here, but I have two new parts (which Ember has already seen) that I haven’t posted yet. They both happen a few days post-raid, so it might mess with our timeline a littel, so I’m sorry if it does.

    Saydra crouched on the top of one of the many ruined buildings, watching the people pass by below her, talking together beneath the lamplight, saying goodbye, heading home, and continuing their lives as normal, because none of them realized the trouble they were in.

    And no matter what happened, whoever went wherever and did whatever, they were all in trouble. Dangerous trouble. Their city was failing, and it was all the government’s fault.

    Well, it was also everyone’s fault, because no-one -except her- really wanted to do anything about it.

    Suddenly, something caught Saydra’s eye a few alleys down. A boy in a dark jacket, waiting for someone. Curiosity struck her.

    What was going on?

    She stood up carefully and made her way across the building and closer to the alley. Someone was approaching.

    She leaned closer, trying to make out faces in the shadowy alleyway. The second one was somehow familiar. . .

    Then it clicked.

    She’d seen this boy wandering the streets often, a lot like her. He wore a mask. His name. . . something with a ‘z’.

    Saydra couldn’t hear what they were saying from so far away, but she didn’t want to risk anyone seeing her on the streets. She wasn’t exactly a model citizen.

    But this had happened before, and luckily, there weren’t many people. So she probably wouldn’t be spotted if she stayed on the roofs.

    She pulled off her cloak and bag and threw them across to the other building. They landed safely across with a thump. No-one looked up at the noise. Coast clear.

    Saydra took a step back and sprung across herself. As she landed, she tucked into a roll to avoid hurting her ankles on the stone and landed in a crouch. Easy enough.

    But that was one of the smaller gaps.

    She pulled out a carefully sketched map of the city to look for the darkest alleys, then headed in that direction.

    *                                *                               *

    Saydra slid down the ivy-covered pillar into the right alleyway, but neither of the figures were there. She must have just missed them.

    She sighed dramatically and let herself fall to the ground, hoping if someone was watching they’d come over and she could either ask the people themselves about what they were doing or ask a passerby where they might have gone.

    No-one came, aside from a curious rat which she kicked away. It landed a few feet away in the shadows of the torchlight and scurried away with a squeak.

    Saydra stared after it.

    Why hadn’t she seen it running away? She wondered, knowing that based on the position if the torch, she should’ve at least seen it shadow running along the wall, even if it was running in the opposite direction. Unless. . .

    Saydra got up carefully and pressed her hands against the cold wall as she walked along it. When she reached the place where the torch cast the most shadows, her hands slipped away. An unlit passage.

    Now she understood why she hadn’t seen either figure leaving. From her place on the roof, they would have been hidden by the archway curving over the alley.

    But now she could follow them. Assuming at least one of them went this way. But should she? They didn’t exactly seem friendly, having meetings past daylight so no-one should here them.

    But that could make them the change she’d been looking for since she’d lost her life to the fires. She take control the way she’d always wanted to, to fix the problems with her city.

    She took a breath, took the torch off the wall, and slipped down the new passage.

    *                                *                                  *

    Okay, that’s it for now! But I am planning to do a little more later today.

    @emberynus-the-dragonslayer I’ll miss y’all, too! Hopefully I’ll see you around some other part of SE, though!!

    @urwen-starial
    Byeeee. I’m glad I was able to be involved for a little while, at least! Yeah, it’s the time commitment. I mean… I do have the time (Who doesn’t, with this Covid stuff going around?) but I just keep doing other, slightly more productive things with it. XP And especially since I’m doing Camp NaNo this month, I won’t be able to keep up.
    *whispers to Kenem* It’s okay. I don’t like Reza much either. She’s a wonderful villain but an absolutely horrid person. *pats Kenem’s head*
    *sends Kirat chocolate* IT’S OKAY. YOU’LL BE OKAY.
    Hm. Kirat would definitely be able to lose Talia. And it would definitely be in character for her to try and find him again.

    @dakota
    I’ll miss y’all too! (I’ll still be stalking, tho, don’t worry. 😉 XD)

    @kayla-skywriter
    Farewell! Oh, yes, thank you, Tawny, I do prefer my hair rat-free. XD *pats Pasha’s head* No apologies necessary, Altan. Rat-free hair is always preferable.

    @naiya-dyani
    Ooh yummy. Thanks! *slips back in to take fudge* Byeee.

    Fare thee well, everyone, and may ever your writing flow smoothly and your minds stay free of writer’s block!

    Here’s Zenyth’s next part:

    Zenyth watched Kenem run off. His blue eyes followed the dark figure till it disappeared around the corner of a building. He pressed his lips together, the sapphire eyes narrowed into slits.

    “Under Reza’s thumb as always,” he muttered, “I almost feel sorry for him. . . I’d never let myself be in his position. . . never again at least. I’m done with being under someone else’s rule,”

    He gritted his teeth against the flood of memories that came rushing back to his mind. His hand sought the handle of a dagger under the edge of his coat. The knife had been his one faithful companion over the years. With it he had slain the tyrants who had ruled him as a child. He had avenged his own blood sweat and tears. From there he went on to rid himself of all rule. For his in his eyes, wherever there was rule, there was abuse of it, leading to oppression.

    He pulled himself from his past back to the present. His mission here was done for now. He started forwards. He would report back to Vanessa.
