Same here! *Shakes hands with you*
What’s your fav. Princess Bride quote?! I die with envy every time I watch the swordplay scene. 🙂

November 2, 2018 at 11:33 am #57687PursueWisdom@pursuewisdomSE is saying that I’m an intermediate. But I think I’m between novice and intermed.
Cool! I’ve been hearing a lot about Hamilton. I’m not into rap/hip hop but I wish to look into it more.
FDR: Introduced socialist ideas into our system of gov’t through his programs. Our system is currently trapped with Social Security, which the SCOTUS in Helvering v. Davis (1937) ruled that “The proceeds of both the employee and employer taxes are to be paid into the Treasury like any other internal revenue generally, and are not earmarked in any way.” Programs like these introduced by FDR and later LBJ etc. takes away the individual’s liberty to choose how he/she can use/plan their money/retirement. He praised Mussolini (the facist) for his control of Italy. Four presidential terms – not exactly unconstitutional at the time to be sure – but I can’t say that he’s greater than Washington who decided to step down after two terms. Plus, the internment of the Japanese Americans.
And I recommend this article by Dinesh D’Souza, who makes the top political documentary films of today: https://townhall.com/columnists/dineshdsouza/2018/08/22/hitler-mussolini-and-fdr-the-secret-history-of-a-mutual-admiration-society-n2512040
Thoughts?

November 2, 2018 at 12:06 pm #57694PursueWisdom@pursuewisdomHai!! Thanks for the welcome!! It’s so wonderful to see so many others who like the same cultural things as I do. 🙂
I’ve actually applied at the end of Oct, but haven’t heard back from SE yet. I’m sure it’ll be soon, though. I can’t wait to see which guild I’ll be in! 🙂
Yes, 😀 I totally lol when I read the info about New Wessex

November 2, 2018 at 12:10 pm #57696PursueWisdom@pursuewisdomHi!! Thank you so much for your welcome. I’ve never finished my reading of Hugo’s book yet… I know I should. 😛 The musical film is awesome! Star cast as well.
Oh really?! I love reading hist fic when I actually find a good one to read. I write mostly speculative – scifi, fantasy – and have dabbled in thriller and poetry. Would you mind telling me more about your WIP? Time period? Blurb?
Thank you for the compliment. I have to remind myself too. Wisdom these days are hard to come by. 🙂
I think you’re the third ENFP I “met” here on this thread… 🙂

November 2, 2018 at 12:12 pm #57697PursueWisdom@pursuewisdom😀 I totally get it.
I actually watched it first as a DVD from my local library (huge moneysaver). But I received a copy as a gift earlier this year, so that’s wonderful. I’ll prob. drive my family nuts with the singing as well xD.

November 2, 2018 at 12:52 pm #57700Samantha Farrar@samantha-penI realized the version of Les Miserables I read was actually revised, but it is still amazing. I also dabble in poetry but that skill still needs quite a bit of honing.
Apparently, it’s really common for ENFP’s to be writers. I think it’s pretty cool that you are an INTJ. Girl INTJ’s are super rare. I like to get to know multiple people of the same personality just to see what the personality is like in a broader scope if that makes sense.
Ok so I would love to tell you about my WIP, (does it count as WIP if I’m finished with the first draft???)I do have another story I’m kind of working on drafting but needs a ton more work and I know so little about.
(the following is my official synopsis)
Courage For A Nation
Lynette, A young southern belle dreams of adventure but she never imagined it would come in the form of a blood-spattered battlefield. A Confederate nurse and a Union spy she is torn between sides. Can she outwit a cunning confederate general or will she be forced to face her family’s denouncement and a criminals death?(other info about CFAN-courageforanation)
It’s obviously set in the civil war. She is an orphan sort of. Her parents aren’t around but I’m not exactly sure why. (need to work on that.) Her older brother and her live with their aunt. At the beginning of the story, she is living with her aunt. She ends up leaving soon after the story begins to enlist. The North rejects her because she is pretty closely related to Lee (fictionally of course) Upon leaving the office she runs into Tommy (a former slave on her aunt’s plantation and childhood friend.) He helps her get into the northern army as a spy. She enlists in the southern army and is placed in a division with her brother who was drafted and the commander is the man she was supposed to marry in the future before the war started. The commander (who is the villain) ask her to pursue a relationship him (she was never in love with him or even liked him) she agrees to get information and eventually unearths a plot to kill Lincoln. Her Brother is killed and in the end, of course, the war ends blah blah blah.
Please feel free to critique or ask questions (this is the story in the first draft stage that I’m editing.

November 2, 2018 at 2:32 pm #57704theinconceivable1@theinconceivable1@pursuewisdom: XD I know its so cheezy! but I mean, compared with other old moves *thinks back to lightsaber fight in the first star wars movie* its pretty good : D. My favorite quote… but theres so many to choose from! I guess “life is pain highness. Anyone who says diffrently is selling something” what about you? you gave some cool quotes (Love the C.S.Lewis ones by the way!) but what’s your all-time favorite?

November 2, 2018 at 2:41 pm #57707PursueWisdom@pursuewisdomActually, I think I mis-communicated. I meant that I loved that scene. It’s my favorite sword fight scene ever! 🙂 They were both so good.
I liked the “never wage a land war in Asia” (or something to that effect). 😀
BTW, if you like swashbucklers and pirates: check out Captain Blood – it’s B&W oldie film but really good. Trust me 🙂

November 2, 2018 at 2:59 pm #57711theinconceivable1@theinconceivable1@pursuewisdom: Oh, sorry I read that wrong XD! While it may not be extremely realistic it is still awesome! I love when they both finally switch to their right hands XD.
*puts on a pair of glasses and rests them so far down his nose they cant be of any use. Coughs dramatically and recites from memory* “you fell for the classic blunder! the most famous of which is never wage a land war in asia but only slightly less well known is this! Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line! AH HAHAHA, AH HAHAHA, AH H… *falls over dead*

November 2, 2018 at 4:34 pm #57731Evelyn@evelyn@pursuewisdom I’m not sure if they have one every year… let me check. 🙂
November 2, 2018 at 4:53 pm #57733Evelyn@evelynOkay, so here’s the website: http://thekingschapel.org/splintered-lights/
It says “inaugural Inklings Conference” so I’m not sure if that means they mean for it to start being yearly.. I can ask though tonight or tomorrow while I’m there! 🙂

YES!!! That’s it! Thank you, sir. 🙂
Yeah, the B&W is the sad part, but honestly, the actors all do a great job bringing the action to life. 🙂 And it’s really hilarious at times although not a comedy. Unfortunately I cannot find a good trailer/snippet right now, but it’s really good… way better than Pirates of the Caribbean. Maybe if you read the Rotten Tomatoes review on it?
