So… I am in the middle of writing the scene where my MC’s best friend dies, and I was wondering if anyone has any specific cliches in mind that I should avoid?   Or any tips in general?  I want to make it sad, but sweet, but I also would really like to avoid making it sappy or melodramatic.  I feel like I’m clueless when it comes to dramatic pieces… 😔

    Any suggestions?
