Avery caught the black orb before it hit the ground. Karra stumbled back, crashing into the wall.
“I’m ..so-rry.. So… sorry. I- ‘m so sorry” Her hands wrapped around her head as she kept muttering to herself through sobs.
“Karra, what’s wrong?!” Avery set the orb down and grabbed her hand.
“I’m… So.. so sorry..” She sobbed.
“Karra… What happened to you?” Avery wracked his mind trying to figure out what could be wrong. Karra wasn’t like this when they were together in the desert.
The orb emitted a soft blue glow in the tunnel.
“Stop saying that, Karra!” Avery squeezed her hand. “You don’t have to be sorry. Please, just tell me what happened.”
